In this transitional farmhouse in West Chester, PA, we renovated the kitchen and family room, and installed new flooring and custom millwork throughout the entire first floor. This chic tuxedo kitchen has white cabinetry, white quartz counters, a black island, soft gold/honed gold pulls and a French door wall oven. The family room’s built in shelving provides extra storage. The shiplap accent wall creates a focal point around the white Carrera marble surround fireplace. The first floor features 8-in reclaimed white oak flooring (which matches the open shelving in the kitchen!) that ties the main living areas together. Photography: 360hometours.ca A Charming Cape Cod Home in West Vancouver underwent a full renovation and redesign by Tina McCabe of McCabe Design & Interiors. The homeowners wanted to keep the original character of the home whilst giving their home a complete makeover. The kitchen space was expanded by opening up the kitchen and dining room, adding French doors off the kitchen to a new deck, and moving the powder room as much as the existing plumbing allowed. A custom kitchen design with custom cabinets and storage was created. A custom "princess bathroom" was created by adding more floor space from the adjacent bedroom and hallway, designing custom millworker, and specifying equisite tile from New Jersey. The home also received refinished hardwood floors, new moulding and millwork, pot lights throughout and custom lighting fixtures, wainscotting, and a new coat of paint. Finally, the laundry was moved upstairs from the basement for ease of use.

For this family’s Lego loving son, we created a custom wall in his bedroom, complete with specially cut Lego base plates to fit the room’s angles. Bonus: No more Legos on the floor!

From the start, we were pleased with the warm welcome and professionalism of the BONE Structure team. We have been very satisfied of our BONE experience. Available and creative, the team has been very responsive to our needs and requests. The schedule was respected and the structure was assembled in record time. The complete construction of our home took less than 4 months and the different tradesmen rapidly understood how efficient their work became with the steel structure with pre-cut openings to receive their materials, like plumbing, electricity, etc. After a full year in our new home, we are able to testify to its strength and energy saving qualities. Nothing has moved, no cracks or construction issues.

The adjacent breakfast room received the same blue-gray paint on the walls and white trim. We kept the original ceiling light. All the existing metal casement windows were stripped and painted white. This project restored the historic core of an 18th century farmhouse, and reorganized the remaining spaces for effortless flow into a new addition featuring updated kitchen, living room, and family room spaces—bringing light, life, and a fresh sense of harmony to the whole.

The kitchen has a lot of glass surfaces thanks to which a lot of light enters the room. In addition, the large number of doors and windows allows fresh, clean air to easily enter the kitchen. The kitchen island with an integrated sink, white countertops and some beautiful chairs around them is an eye-catcher. In the quiet corner of the kitchen, there is a stylish dining table that allows the owners to talk peacefully and receive guests warmly. The children’s rooms feature custom ripplefold drapery installed on decorative Techno drapery rods. The girl’s room received “Larsen Sheer” drapery from Cowtan & Tout and the boy’s room received “Natural Fit Cloud” draperies from Carole Fabrics.

The project continued into the Great Room and was an exercise in creating congruent yet unique spaces with their own specific functions for the family. Cozy yet carefully curated. Refinishing of the floors and beams continued into the Great Room. To add more light, a new window was added and all existing wood window casings and sills were painted white. Additionally the fireplace received a lime wash treatment and a new reclaimed beam mantle.

This condominium is modern and sleek, while still retaining much of its traditional charm. We added paneling to the walls, archway, door frames, and around the fireplace for a special and unique look throughout the home. To create the entry with convenient built-in shoe storage and bench, we cut an alcove an existing to hallway. The deep-silled windows in the kitchen provided the perfect place for an eating area, which we outfitted with shelving for additional storage. Form, function, and design united in the beautiful black and white kitchen. It is a cook’s dream with ample storage and counter space. The bathrooms play with gray and white in different materials and textures to create timeless looks. The living room’s built-in shelves and reading nook in the bedroom add detail and storage to the home. The pops of color and eye-catching light fixtures make this condo joyful and fun.
