Design by Joanna Hartman Photography by Ryann Ford Styling by Adam Fortner The kitchen features 3cm Bianco Carrara Marble counters, hardware salvaged from original kitchen, a mixture of new and old oak flooring, Rittenhouse 3x6 white gloss tile for the backsplash, Benjamin Moore "Simply White" paint on the ceiling, "Revere Pewter" on the walls by the same, and a clear Shades of Light Teardrop Seeded Pendant above the island.

Without a door to the bedroom, the random cutout b/w the living area & bedroom needed to be closed off. A Toile fabric covered board seals the window and becomes a memento board. Shelves were added to a recessed wall to create a bookcase & entertainment center. This living room got an upgraded look with the help of new paint, furnishings, fireplace tiling and the installation of a bar area. Our clients like to party and they host very often... so they needed a space off the kitchen where adults can make a cocktail and have a conversation while listening to music. We accomplished this with conversation style seating around a coffee table. We designed a custom built-in bar area with wine storage and beverage fridge, and floating shelves for storing stemware and glasses. The fireplace also got an update with beachy glazed tile installed in a herringbone pattern and a rustic pine mantel. The homeowners are also love music and have a large collection of vinyl records. We commissioned a custom record storage cabinet from Hansen Concepts which is a piece of art and a conversation starter of its own. The record storage unit is made of raw edge wood and the drawers are engraved with the lyrics of the client's favorite songs. It's a masterpiece and will be an heirloom for sure.

The original foyer of this 1959 home was dark and cave like. The ceiling could not be raised because of AC equipment above, so the designer decided to "visually open" the space by removing a portion of the wall between the kitchen and the foyer. The team designed and installed a "see through" walnut dividing wall to allow light to spill into the space. A peek into the kitchen through the geometric triangles on the walnut wall provides a "wow" factor for the foyer.
