The goal for these clients was to build a new home with a transitional design that was large enough for their children and grandchildren to visit, but small enough to age in place comfortably with a budget they could afford on their retirement income. They wanted an open floor plan, with plenty of wall space for art and strong connections between indoor and outdoor spaces to maintain the original garden feeling of the lot. A unique combination of cultures is reflected in the home – the husband is from Haiti and the wife from Switzerland. This project of ours is a pool in Massachusetts that offers plenty of surround seating and beautiful landscaping. The crystal blue water fills a fairly simply designed pool with round steps and a deep end swim out bench for relaxing in the deep end.

Private setting at this rear yard oasis. The pool is surrounded by grass on two sides and a solid patio for sunning. Glass mosaic tiles and gray pool plaster gives the pool an inviting look, while the cement stucco home has a corrugated and galvanized roof.

The pool measures 16'0" x 36'0" and also features a 7'0" x 9'0" spa which is partially raised and is separate from the pool. The pool and spa also feature LED Colored lighting. Both the pool and Spa possess an automatic pool cover with a Stone lid system. The coping is Valders Buff modified edge Limestone. The pool has an in-floor cleaning system to keep it clean and sanitary. The exposed aggregate interior finish is Classic color. All of the stone cladding around the partially elevated pool and spa is Valders Wisconsin Limestone. This swimming pool was designed and built for this home in Lake Forest, IL.
