Completed in 2015, the Othello House was designed by PRDG Architecture + Design and built by Better Builders as a striking example of modern living in West Seattle. Though the homeowners chose not to pursue formal certification, the project was built to meet the rigorous standards of a Five-Star Built Green™ home. From the ground up, sustainability and style were equally prioritized. The build preserved native vegetation, retained mature trees on-site, exceeded Washington State Energy Code requirements, and recycled over 70% of construction waste by weight. Recycled-content materials were thoughtfully incorporated throughout, reinforcing the home’s eco-conscious foundation. Large windows on all sides flood the interiors with natural light, while the surrounding landscaping is designed to highlight lush greenery and native plantings. The result is a home that combines premium modern design with environmental responsibility—proving that sustainable construction can also deliver the ultimate in comfort and function.

Newly constructed home located in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin. The existing bungalow on the property was deconstructed, with materials set aside for re-use in the new home. Goal of the project was to source exclusively from these existing materials, as well as materials salvaged from the homeowners' family ranch in West Texas. The remaining products and materials were sourced locally and made in the USA whenever possible, to lower the carbon footprint and support local manufacturers and artisans. This modern white and grey pool uses a custom mix of 3/4"x3/4" recycled glass mosaic for the pool and Jacuzzi. There are many colors to choose from to make a custom mix. Some colors are also available in the 3/8"x3/8".

Why is this kitchen fully recycled? all the kitchen cabinets, appliances, and countertops have been recycled from somebody else kitchen. There are companies that specialized in recycled products and materials.

Manufacturer of custom recycled glass counter tops and landscape glass aggregate. The countertops are individually handcrafted and customized, using 100% recycled glass and diverting tons of glass from our landfills. The epoxy used is Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) and emits no off gassing. The newest product base is a high density, UV protected concrete. We now have indoor and outdoor options. As with the resin, the concrete offer the same creative aspects through glass choices. Mix of purple glass and glass cubes with flecks of black recycled glass.
