This cabinet is a great place to store items that aren't used often including crock pots and Kitchenaid Mixer. Inspiration for a mid-sized scandinavian home design remodel in Edmonton

design: Studio TOOP, 2008 location: Amersfoort, NL status: built in 2010, Vaate Hoveniers and DIY photos: Jolanthe Lalkens, 2012 This design is based on a series of concentric circles in alternating benches and walls. This makes the garden graphically interesting from above and allows for a large amount of integrated seating (both important criteria for the design). Contrasting with this clean graphic element is the rough texture of the broken cement pavers and the organic lines of the planting beds. The existing field maple is used as a focal point and gives the garden an intimate, mature quality. Despite that there is only one tree, the garden feels somehow like the woods.

The kitchen, butler’s pantry, and laundry room uses Arbor Mills cabinetry and quartz counter tops. Wide plank flooring is installed to bring in an early world feel. Encaustic tiles and black iron hardware were used throughout. The butler’s pantry has polished brass latches and cup pulls which shine brightly on black painted cabinets. Across from the laundry room the fully custom mudroom wall was built around a salvaged 4” thick seat stained to match the laundry room cabinets.

Our quaint dining room is cladded with barn board and house siding. The nearby Douglas Fir record shelf separates the front door from the living room area.

These pendant lamps are made from recycled 1800 Reposado Tequila bottles, hand cut and repurposed into lights. They add a wonderful charm to this outdoor bar in an expansive backyard experience on the Santa Barbara Riviera.

Stark white surroundings with white lacquer cabinetry and solid white glass backsplash allow the Vetrazzo recycled glass surfaces to take center stage and establish a burst of color. The epoxy used is Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) and emits no off gassing. The newest product base is a high density, UV protected concrete. We now have indoor and outdoor options. A beautiful combination of recycled glass was added to create the unique look of this custom concrete counter top. The amazing part about using concrete in your kitchen design is that you can personally create your own pattern or color combination! You can then enjoy the art you created for years to come!

This renovation was inspired by the owner's love of color, and by the 1940s vintage of the cottage--specifically, the colors of classic American dishware of that era, such as Fiesta and Jadeite. In the new space, handmade coral tile and green cabinets provide a splash of tropical color to help counteract the gray Pacific Northwest climate outside. This project began with the request to update the existing kitchen of this eclectic waterfront home on Puget Sound. The remodel entailed relocating the kitchen from the front of the house where it was limiting the window space to the back of the house overlooking the family room and dining room. We opened up the kitchen with sliding window walls to create a natural connection to the exterior. The bold colors were the owner’s vision, and they wanted the space to be fun and inviting. From the reclaimed barn wood floors to the recycled glass countertops to the Teppanyaki grill on the island and the custom stainless steel cloud hood suspended from the barrel vault ceiling, virtually everything was centered on entertaining.

A compact shed for three refuse bins - a large garbage, recycling and green bin. A Cedar shake roof lends a classic look while providing durable water-proofing. Comes in two standards colours, and has lockable doors to keep raccoons away.
