Within walled boundaries, Woody Creek Garden embraces its high alpine environment through explorations of stone and water that serve as unifying elements of form in the design of the various outdoor spaces. Through striking and distinctively detailed stonework, water is portrayed in its various states and forms – atmospheric mist, single rivulets, cascades, and still pools. Two courtyards interlink the residence allowing each room to enjoy the visual landscape. In the entrance courtyard, the sound from a carved 24”x 24” cut-granite fountain reverberates throughout the walled space. Placed for gathering and quiet contemplation, a pin-wheel arrangement of sculptural, granite slabs provide a honed surface for sitting while providing year-round interest. Each stone was individually specified with intentionally spaced core fractures, utilizing the extraction method to serve as sculpted details. Large sandstone pavers, set in sand and cut in an irregular, but geometric fashion bring a sense of modernity to the space. Throughout the property, stone detailing seek to heighten one’s experience of the landscape and views. Upon the home’s entry, an 18” rectilinear cut in the freestanding stone wall frames a distant peak, creating a singular reference to the outside world in this encased space. Emerging from the center of an organically-shaped carved sandstone slab, water is carried along a narrow 2” runnel sandstone cap, disappearing into the framed horizon. This glimpse to the west is the only opening in the tightly enclosed courtyard. From its opposite aspect, the feature creates a welcoming gesture at the home’s front entrance. The slender rivulet of water trickles from the sandstone slab above onto a honed granite plane, set within a sandstone terrace In contrast, a second promontory courtyard commands a strong presence over its alpine setting, leaving the steeply sloping site undisturbed. A 12’x 40’ reflecting pool – a thin sheet of water over honed black granite – captures the form and silence of the everchanging natural environment on its taut surface. Along its edge, water flows over a ½” radius edge, disappearing into a recirculating slot. Commissioned by Italian artist Bruno Romeda, a bronze sculpture rests upon an elevated granite plinth. Along its western edge, designers crafted a two-tiered, infinity edge detail. In the first vertical drop, water flows between the pool and perimeter stone walls, landing onto an intermediate bench, while the second drop introduces a chamfered edge, allowing water to embrace the vertical relief without splashing. Sandstone terraces provide continuous access to the various landscape features of the garden. At the base of the battered perimeter walls, a sandstone path leads to a fire pit, encircled by lichen-covered boulders. Along the courtyard’s eastern perimeter, water appears to emerge from the hillside, fracturing and falling against the irregular vertical stone wall, melting in a curtain-like formation behind the spa. The colors, distinctive detailing and striking stonework were selected based on their appropriateness to the context. From above, a rectilinear pool lies behind the wall, silently mirroring the sky above and offering no ostensible connection to the structure or to its source.

This Master Bathroom was based in a neutral Moca Cream limestone on the floor and is carried through as smaller
2”x 2” tiles in the shower floor. The shower walls of Jacana Crochet limestone contrasts in color while complimenting in texture the mirror wall material of the sink area. The Sheer Blaze high relief limestone embellishes a vanity of African Mahogany and polished Magic Brown marble counters. This provided movement and texture to the space, which is accented with side linear columns of Lycian white limestone tiles.

This remodel took an extremely dark & dated kitchen and transformed it into a bright and airy happy place for our client. The existing conditions created a dark, hall-like kitchen that greatly lacked in function and did little to optimize storage. Realizing the potential of this truly massive space, we created a design that utilizes every inch of the kitchen and creates functional cooking and prep space as well as pantry storage and work nooks. Our first order of business was to demo out the blocky corner that separated the kitchen from the living room. This involved removing an existing fireplace, re-structuring a wall, and having an entirely new furnace installed in the basement to eliminate a duct running right through the corner we hoped to eliminate. After opening up the space, we focused on highlighting and brightening the room. New NuCore flooring was installed to give the kitchen a fresh look while offering optimal function and cleanability. Two-toned cabinets in a honey maple and painted silk were used to create a warm and comfortable balance throughout the space. New quartz countertops in MSI's canvas were installed, and butcher block was installed on the two desk areas to offer a warm visual relief and casual work surface. The color palette for the kitchen is reminiscent of a cozy apothecary; we utilized fresh greens with Sherwin Williams paint on the walls and Treviso Gray Sage glazed subway tiles on the backsplash. Over the sink, we designed a playful highlight with counter-to-ceiling mini brick mosaic in a dark crackle green. We introduced additional lighting throughout including new recessed lights, over-sink light, and under-cabinet lights. New appliances were introduced to the space as well, and we complimented the stainless steel of these fixtures to the transitional nickel hardware on the cabinets. This space now feels open and inviting, and is visible from the second you enter the front door! We are so proud of this result and so happy that our clients can enjoy this gorgeous kitchen for years to come.

The clients believed the peninsula footprint was required due to the unique entry points from the hallway leading to the dining room and the foyer. The new island increases storage, counters and a more pleasant flow of traffic from all directions.
The biggest challenge was trying to make the structural beam that ran perpendicular to the space work in a new design; it was off center and difficult to balance the cabinetry and functional spaces to work with it. In the end it was decided to increase the budget and invest in moving the header in the ceiling to achieve the best design, esthetically and funcationlly.
Specific storage designed to meet the clients requests include:
- pocket doors at counter tops for everyday appliances
- deep drawers for pots, pans and Tupperware
- island includes designated zone for baking supplies
- tall and shallow pantry/food storage for easy access near island
- pull out spice near cooking
- tray dividers for assorted baking pans/sheets, cutting boards and numerous other serving trays
- cutlery and knife inserts and built in trash/recycle bins to keep things organized and convenient to use, out of sight
- custom design hutch to hold various, yet special dishes and silverware
Elements of design chosen to meet the clients wishes include:
- painted cabinetry to lighten up the room that lacks windows and give relief/contrast to the expansive wood floors
- monochromatic colors throughout give peaceful yet elegant atmosphere
o stained island provides interest and warmth with wood, but still unique in having a different stain than the wood floors – this is repeated in the tile mosaic backsplash behind the rangetop
- punch of fun color used on hutch for a unique, furniture feel
- carefully chosen detailed embellishments like the tile mosaic, valance toe boards, furniture base board around island, and island pendants are traditional details to not only the architecture of the home, but also the client’s furniture and décor.
- Paneled refrigerator minimizes the large appliance, help keeping an elegant feel
Superior cooking equipment includes a combi-steam oven, convection wall ovens paired with a built-in refrigerator with interior air filtration to better preserve fresh foods.

We opened up walls and doorways, added a casement and transom windows, and covered the existing chimney with brick veneer – giving it visual impact while incorporating it into the new layout. Rustic Oak cabinets, a few bead-board doors to highlight specific areas, and an adorable Sangria Red accent cabinet section adds depth and colorful interest to this country Kitchen.
Natural slate floors compliment the cabinets perfectly, and a simple Quartz countertop with a large white subway tile backsplash allow the custom tile Rooster mosaic behind the range to really shine. The granite farmhouse sink has a beautiful floral relief pattern on the front, and accents the lovely gray tones in the natural slate floors.
Updated storage options include a tall coffee station cabinet, two spice pull out cabinets flanking the professional gas range, a wine cabinet roll out base, and a mixer base cabinet. The ceiling mounted light was custom made by a local artisan, and gives this space a funky industrial feel. The modern upgrades and the warm inviting feel make this Kitchen super functional and a joy to cook for a small family meal or entertain a large group.

This shower tile design was inspired by the mural artist's work in the surrounding bath which featured a cherry tree theme. The glass mosaics (Oceanside Glass Tile) are a custom blend and the cherry tree was made by Dragonfly out of marble, scribed into the glass mosaic but left proud for a relief effect. Floor and ceiling also Jerusalem gold marble mosaics. The niche trim is also Oceanside glass, pencil liner. Niche base is same marble used in other areas.

Dreamy, airy natural design is a relief, a calm and joy.

In the backyard of a home dating to 1910 in the Hudson Valley, a modest 250 square-foot outbuilding, at one time used as a bootleg moonshine distillery, and more recently as a bare bones man-cave, was given new life as a sumptuous home office replete with not only its own WiFi, but also abundant southern light brought in by new windows, bespoke furnishings, a double-height workstation, and a utilitarian loft.
The original barn door slides open to reveal a new set of sliding glass doors opening into the space. Dark hardwood floors are a foil to crisp white defining the walls and ceiling in the lower office, and soft shell pink in the double-height volume punctuated by charcoal gray barn stairs and iron pipe railings up to a dollhouse-like loft space overhead. The desktops -- clad on the top surface only with durable, no-nonsense, mushroom-colored laminate -- leave birch maple edges confidently exposed atop punchy red painted bases perforated with circles for visual and functional relief. Overhead a wrought iron lantern alludes to a birdcage, highlighting the feeling of being among the treetops when up in the loft.

The Evol Mirror are simply amazing! With a beautifully carved wooden frame in high relief, they stand at an impressive 2 meters tall. And the coolest thing is that you can place them directly on the floor. They have metal supports on the base that were specially made for this. So, you don’t need to hang them on the wall, you can place them anywhere. Just imagine the charm they will bring to your home.

Everyone needs a home office or man space. This extra bedroom was an ideal location set apart from the rest of the living spaces in the home. A large television mounted directly across from the desk area provide game relief for all the tasks of work! This open writing desk and furniture wall shelving keep the office from closing in, and still offer plenty of storage to hide away paperwork when desired.

Since Ottoman Arabesque Tile Tiles are produced by hand, it is normal to have color tones in the products.
. The back side of the tiles is serrated with a matte ceramic base, the front side is glazed and glossy polished.
. The infrastructure of our product in the picture is a mixture of ceramic tiles, and the upper structure is made with tile paint.
. Arabesk Ceramic-based tile glazed tile preserves its appearance for many years. No loss of color and pattern
