This Medina garage condo remodel combines the best of old and new. Our client wanted to incorporate a vintage gas pump, so we created a design with a unique retro-style “gas station” for the lower half of the garage. Integrated brick acts as the exterior of the “gas station” as well as a wall between each room. Upstairs, you’ll notice a more modern design, with cable handrail features in the overlook, working as a “window” into the lower level. The loft provides a beautiful kitchen with modern farmhouse touches, including an island with shiplap details, custom cabinetry, and rustic lighting fixtures. The goal of this loft was to create a great space for entertaining, which is made evident by the great island and overlook bar incorporated into the railing. By extending the facade of the gas station to the ceiling, the Gonyea Transformations team created a great entertainment nook and privacy wall to form a relaxed environment in the upper-level loft.
About the AutoMotorPlex
The Medina AutoMotorPlex is a 160-unit garage condominium complex just off of Highway 55 and Arrowhead Drive. This unique concept provides an opportunity for car enthusiasts and like-minded individuals to own a private garage which they can personalize and showcase their collector cars or luxury vehicles. It also provides a unique community for people who share a passion for motorsports—or anything that has an engine—with hosted events throughout the year. With a variety of garage sizes within the AutoMotorPlex, the garage condos have one thing in common, they start out as empty shells, waiting for new owners to envision a space to showcase their prized possessions and entertain family, friends, and clients.

From its English-style conservatory to its wealth of French doors, this impressive family home - at once stately, yet welcoming - ushers the vitality of its premiere urban setting into historically-inspired interiors. Here, soaring ceilings, inlaid floors, and marble-wrapped, walnut-paneled, and mirror-clad walls honor the luxurious traditions of classic European interior architecture. Naturally, symmetry is its muse, evinced through a striking collection of fine furnishings, splendid rugs, art, and accessories - augmented, all, by unexpectedly fresh bursts of color and playfully retro silhouettes. Formal without intimidation -or apology- it personifies the very finest in gracious city living.

This bonus room was created by a previous owner by enclosing a covered patio, thus the rustic ceiling. The wall with the built-ins was previously a bank of windows. the doors of the built-ins hide a king size Murphy bed. The Danish chair was a family piece which I covered in a Kravet vinyl. And of course the wonderful view out to their decks, dock and the canals beyond. The cassettes over the window and sliding door hide opaque screens from Texton. Photography by Pamela Fulcher,

Just a little pop of color on the sectional really ties together the warmth of the other furniture pieces in the room and the beautiful artwork above the sectional. This is a fun place to have cocktails or play games with the family!

The young couple wanted to make a fun statement from the moment people enter their home. The small entry didn't deter us from adding lots of personality with quirky accessories and a grassy place to keep keys. The hallway features retro video game decals, graphic runners, and is the perfect space for a gallery of their own artwork.
