Remember that ridiculously outrageous Beverly Hills spec home Beyonce and Jay-Z were eyeballing not so long ago? It turns out that Minecraft creator Markus Persson scooped it up instead.

Here are some practical tips for creating a beautiful, comfortable and thoughtful living room design. The living room in the house is the place where, as the name suggests, receives guests. However, the owners themselves relax here, spending time in front of the TV or a book, with drinks, pleasant conversation and other activities. Therefore, the living room should be the most comfortable place in your home. The place of the sofa in the design of the living room The sofa does not need to be placed in a draft. This means that it should not be on an imaginary line from window to door - if you drew a floor plan, it will just be easy to trace. 1. The sofa in front of the TV, diagonally from the door, is a great location. As if inviting you to sit down :) 2. Sofa near the door. A good solution if you often have overnight guests. 3. An extremely useful type of furniture. :) Firstly, a large number of decor items can be beautifully placed on the rack. And secondly, it can also play the role of a light through partition, which divides the room into zones and does not select light at the same time. This is a very big plus for small apartments. Fireplace. Here we are talking about electric fireplaces. Some of them come with a humidifier and heated, so 3-in-1 models can be very helpful. Fireplace portals have different styles: classic, antique, modern. Inconsistency with the general style of the living room can greatly spoil the impression of the room, so be careful with creativity. The design for this home in Palo Alto looked to create a union between the interior and exterior, blending the spaces in such a way as to allow residents to move seamlessly between the two environments. Expansive glazing was used throughout the home to complement this union, looking out onto a swimming pool centrally located within the courtyard. Within the living room, a large operable skylight brings in plentiful sunlight, while utilizing self tinting glass that adjusts to various lighting conditions throughout the day to ensure optimal comfort. For the exterior, a living wall was added to the garage that continues into the backyard. Extensive landscaping and a gabion wall was also created to provide privacy and contribute to the sense of the home as a tranquil oasis.

It looks like there is a ridiculous amount of room to the left of the island, but because that is the main circulation route through the space, our designer left plenty of room to walk behind anyone seated at the island.

Homeowners were building a new home and guesthouse in a horse ranch community in St. Johns, Florida. They asked us to design a "ridiculous" pool to include boulder grottos and jumping platforms, a long, fast and twisting slide, a tree to swing into the water from, a kids fort with a suspension bridge, a wading/sunning shallow portion of the pool. They also wanted the property to include a chicken coop and garden area, a proper space for solar panels, a large driveway area for maneuvering and storing a boat.
