This master bath is a perfect example of a well balanced space, with his and hers counter spaces just to start. His tall 6'8" stature required a 40 inch counter height creating this multi-level counter space that wraps in along the wall, continuing to the vanity desk. The smooth transition between each level is intended to emulate that of a traditional flow form piece. This gives each of them ample functional space and storage. The warm tones within wood accents and the cooler tones found in the tile work are tied together nicely with the greige stone countertop. In contrast to the barn door and other wood features, matte black hardware is used as a sharp accent. This space successfully blends into a rustic elegance theme.

We gave this rather dated farmhouse some dramatic upgrades that brought together the feminine with the masculine, combining rustic wood with softer elements. In terms of style her tastes leaned toward traditional and elegant and his toward the rustic and outdoorsy. The result was the perfect fit for this family of 4 plus 2 dogs and their very special farmhouse in Ipswich, MA. Character details create a visual statement, showcasing the melding of both rustic and traditional elements without too much formality. The new master suite is one of the most potent examples of the blending of styles. The bath, with white carrara honed marble countertops and backsplash, beaded wainscoting, matching pale green vanities with make-up table offset by the black center cabinet expand function of the space exquisitely while the salvaged rustic beams create an eye-catching contrast that picks up on the earthy tones of the wood. The luxurious walk-in shower drenched in white carrara floor and wall tile replaced the obsolete Jacuzzi tub. Wardrobe care and organization is a joy in the massive walk-in closet complete with custom gliding library ladder to access the additional storage above. The space serves double duty as a peaceful laundry room complete with roll-out ironing center. The cozy reading nook now graces the bay-window-with-a-view and storage abounds with a surplus of built-ins including bookcases and in-home entertainment center. You can’t help but feel pampered the moment you step into this ensuite. The pantry, with its painted barn door, slate floor, custom shelving and black walnut countertop provide much needed storage designed to fit the family’s needs precisely, including a pull out bin for dog food. During this phase of the project, the powder room was relocated and treated to a reclaimed wood vanity with reclaimed white oak countertop along with custom vessel soapstone sink and wide board paneling. Design elements effectively married rustic and traditional styles and the home now has the character to match the country setting and the improved layout and storage the family so desperately needed. This ranch went from outdated and non functional to bright, airy, and modern. Every surface was updated from the kitchen and bathrooms to the exterior of the home. Classic details keep the style timeless while subtle pops of color add life and personality. The home now has high ceilings and an indoor/outdoor floor plan, perfect for entertaining and living.

A custom made concrete trough sink with dual wall mounted Brizo Litze single handle faucets in luxe nickel sits atop the custom made built in vanity in knotty alder wood. Doors and drawers are flat panels, adorned with retro bin pulls from Esty in pewter. Backsplash is a single row of 12x24" Eleganza Coastline tile in "Pebble Beach". Possini Euro Raden 10" vanity scones on either side of each Pottery Barn vintage mirror, all finished in brushed nickel. Centered between the two mirrors is a custom built in medicine niche, matching the species and finish of the vanity. A Kohler, Tea for Two (66" x 36"), bathtub sits next to the open tiled shower, a glass panel separating the two, both take in the views of the surrounding area. Deck mounted Brizo Litze Roman tub faucet in luxe nickel on the left. Tub face is tiled in 12x24 Eleganza Coastline in "Pebble Beach" and capped with Pental engineered quartz in "Carerra" - which is also used for the window sills. Sliding knotty alder pocket door to the toilet room on the right. Floors are polished concrete, left naturally finished, complimented by a 2.5" knotty alder base. Walls and ceiling are finished in Benjamin Moore's "Dulche de Leche."
