A home of this magnitude needed a staircase that is worthy of a castle and where all high school students would die to take their prom pictures. The design of this U-shaped staircase with the unique staggered windows allows so much natural light to flow into the home and creates visual interest without the need to add trim detailing or wallpaper. This was great for playtime, but not so great for nap time. We wanted to provide an option that provided both a diffused light and a light blocking option. We combined two Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades in one headrail, allowing for dual light options in one window covering.

Here the owner used Warm White LED Strip Light on each individual stair and installed the wiring under the side trim. The entire installation is controlled using a pair of Micro LED Dimmers mounted subtely under the rail for on/off control and full dimming without the need for wiring and wall installation usually associated with wall switches.

The challenge was to get a staircase in the center of this A frame house. The stair switched back and forth between 6 levels of the home. The cable railings help to keep the stairwell open and light. The stair treads are solid oak and the risers are wallpapered with a natural grass paper. The murals on the wall add interest as you ascend the stairs.

This custom Arts & Crafts Crown Point Cabinetry kitchen and bar area features, Quartersawn White Oak with a Washington Cherry stained finish. The Island and custom Range Hood both feature, Bee’s Wax over Eco Brown stain and Burnished over Maple. The kitchen and bar area cabinetry have a Craftsman style door with Black Walnut pegs, while the island presents an Old Cupboard door style that blends seamlessly. Owner fabricated kitchen cabinets with Greene & Greene inspiration including face frames that are 7/8" stiles, 3/4" rails, doors with 3/4" stiles and 5/8" rails. Rails incorporate cloud lift. Face frames have ebony peg anchoring each rail. Drawers incorporate handmade arched pulls with ebony pegs.
