Summer Street House Remodel in Ojai is a small, three bedroom house tucked away in a quiet corner near downtown Ojai. Two unassuming, white farmhouse cottages are centered around a courtyard with two small cabins in the back. The first cottage contains the living room, dining room, kitchen and a powder room. Connected by a gravel courtyard and stone walkway, the second cottage contains the bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry room. All four structures on the property have recently undergone a full renovation completed in early 2021. The central courtyard has a custom made dining table under a canopy of mature olives and flanked by a stone fire pit.

While the majority of the home is fresh and bright, we did want to incorporate some saturation! Selecting the master bedroom, we choose to paint the entire room a deep blue; then creating a tone-on-tone effect by layering in bedding and wall art in the same color range. The overall effect is both moody, dramatic and yet incredibly relaxing. We carried this saturated look into the master bath as well, were we opted for the most beautiful black floor tiles, arranged in a herringbone pattern; and handcrafted teal wall tiles.

Arabic house design from Katrina Antonovich embrace with coziness and comfort. The oriental style allows you to saturate the interior with abundance of luxurious decor.Soft velvet of rich shades and silk on soft sofas and in folds of canopies fill the interior with softness and warmth. Boiserie on the walls with decorative stucco in tone with velvet and carved gilded décor is in harmony with the ceiling decoration. Marble floors decorated with swirls of patterns with oriental motifs. The layers of unexpected style helped develop a more collected – less stylized – feeling overall. Then it was bye-bye to the pink lacquer! A local artisan worked on a faux finish for the custom dresser that the client had already invested in and we just gave it a refresh with a deep bronze finish. Balancing this piece with the playful silk tassel pendant lights that frame a beautiful original painting of red headed queens by artist Nancy Rhodes Harper. This Modern English home has history! Passed down through family inheritance, it hadn’t been truly updated since 1965. Lucky us that we met Vince & Angelica after they searched for just the right design team! The inspiration for this now elegant home started with their award winning backyard garden and koi pond. Like their landscaping, elegance and details now abound throughout the interior of this home also! Every surface was transformed to create a ‘new’ old world charm. Double saturated shadowbox, unique wallpaper, and checkerboard tile details set the backdrop for our curated blend of furnishing and accessory elements from top to bottom. The lighting under the bar top is supplied by our Radialux RGB-W LED Tape Light. RGB-W tape light has a combination of saturated red/green/blue LED chips and white chips, making it possible to create pastel colors in addition to saturated colors.
