The vanity was the inspiration for this entire space. The homeowners immediately fell in love with the rustic wood and exposed hinges on this fantastic piece by Native Trails. The blue undertones in the weathered wood grain led to the blue theme in the tile as well. A concrete style porcelain tile compliments the industrial look without competing with the shower tile or the vanity.

We love adding reading nooks in bedrooms! A great place to sip tea and reflect - these upholstered armchairs face the window and have a bright two-tone lamp for extra light. The lumbar pillows add comfortable support and beautiful saturated colors to this side of the room! Photo by Johnny Stevens

Completed in 2018, this Westlake Hills duplex designed by Alterstudio Architects underwent a dramatic transformation by mixing light & airy with dark & moody design. The goal of the project was to create a more intimate environment using a more saturated and dramatic palette. Additionally it draws from warmer wood tones such as walnut alongside luxurious textures, particularly in navy, dark grey to emerald green. The end result is a elegant, timeless, and comfortable space conducive to cozying up with a book at the end of a long day.

When designing this beautiful kitchen, we knew that our client’s favorite color was blue. Upon entering the home, it was easy to see that great care had been taken to incorporate the color blue throughout. So, when our Designer Sherry knew that our client wanted an island, she jumped at the opportunity to add a pop of color to their kitchen.
Having a kitchen island can be a great opportunity to showcase an accent color that you love or serve as a way to showcase your style and personality. Our client chose a bold saturated blue which draws the eye into the kitchen. Shadow Storm Marble countertops, 3x6 Bianco Polished Marble backsplash and Waypoint Painted Linen floor to ceiling cabinets brighten up the space and add contrast. Arabescato Carrara Herringbone Marble was used to add a design element above the range.
The major renovations performed on this kitchen included:
A peninsula work top and a small island in the middle of the room for the range was removed. A set of double ovens were also removed in order for the range to be moved against the wall to allow the middle of the kitchen to open up for the installment of the large island. Placing the island parallel to the sink, opened up the kitchen to the family room and made it more inviting.

Adding a big, bold dose of color to a room creates excitement. To get just the right amount of pop, start with a neutral base. Then add a few bright accessories-or an accent wall-to deliver the color you crave.

This Modern English home has history! Passed down through family inheritance, it hadn’t been truly updated since 1965. Lucky us that we met Vince & Angelica after they searched for just the right design team!
The inspiration for this now elegant home started with their award winning backyard garden and koi pond. Like their landscaping, elegance and details now abound throughout the interior of this home also! Every surface was transformed to create a ‘new’ old world charm. Double saturated shadowbox, unique wallpaper, and checkerboard tile details set the backdrop for our curated blend of furnishing and accessory elements from top to bottom. Many cherished collectibles were carefully integrated as well.
Oh, but the KITCHEN and Family Room!! You can see even more details!

Hip, stylish couple wanted to update a newly purchased traditional home (built 2007) utilizing mostly cosmetic, decorative improvements - not structural alterations. The residence needs to empower the family and support the owner’s professional, creative pursuits. They frequently entertain, so requested both large and small environments for social gatherings and dance parties. Our primary palette is bright orange and deep blue, and we employ the deep, saturated hues on sizeable areas like walls and large furniture pieces. We soften and balance the intense hues with creamy off-whites, and introduce contemporary light fixtures throughout the house. We incorporate textured wall coverings inside display cabinets, above wainscoting, on fireplace surround, on select accent walls, and on the coffered living room ceiling.

Choose from 600 color poms to bring life to your expressions, and create a custom size to make it fit any space.

This elegant kitchen and breakfast bar was designed by Wamhoff Development. They brought a little bit of the East Coast feel into the design. All custom built cabinetry was provided by us including, the custom vent hood, and the solid black walnut island counter-top. Cabinet exterior crafted out of solid and veneer maple. Interior is made of of a UV coated maple. This open space is saturated with natural sunlight from adjacent rooms and finished in a Driftwood Gray Mohawk pigmented lacquer. The black walnut counter-top is a multi-coat hand rubbed oil finish to give its sheen and long-lasting beauty. The second island is a welcoming 12ft long, giving the overall space its defining limits. All topped with polished nickel hardware.

The original bathroom on the main floor had an odd Jack-and-Jill layout with two toilets, two vanities and only a single tub/shower (in vintage mint green, no less). With some creative modifications to existing walls and the removal of a small linen closet, we were able to divide the space into two functional bathrooms – one of them now a true en suite master.
In the master bathroom we chose a soothing palette of warm grays – the geometric floor tile was laid in a random pattern adding to the modern minimalist style. The slab front vanity has a mid-century vibe and feels at place in the home. Storage space is always at a premium in smaller bathrooms so we made sure there was ample countertop space and an abundance of drawers in the vanity. While calming grays were welcome in the bathroom, a saturated pop of color adds vibrancy to the master bedroom and creates a vibrant backdrop for furnishings.

A home this vibrant is something to admire. We worked alongside Greg Baudoin Interior Design, who brought this home to life using color. Together, we saturated the cottage retreat with floor to ceiling personality and custom finishes. The rich color palette presented in the décor pairs beautifully with natural materials such as Douglas fir planks and maple end cut countertops.
Surprising features lie around every corner. In one room alone you’ll find a woven fabric ceiling and a custom wooden bench handcrafted by Birchwood carpenters. As you continue throughout the home, you’ll admire the custom made nickel slot walls and glimpses of brass hardware. As they say, the devil is in the detail.
