A dated kitchen transformed into a stunning modern farmhouse style kitchen using custom cabinet refacing in a care-free, easy to clean white thermofoil and a unique "stepped" shaker style door. The countertops are SileStone Charcoal Soapstone Quartz in their Suede finish...the look and beauty of real soapstone without the worry of stains and discoloration. The new kitchen features custom shaker cabinets, quartz calacatta Laza countertops and backspace and light hardwood floors (all from Spazio LA Tile Gallery), two custom walnut veneer with recessed strip lights, bronze finish fixtures, apron sink and lighting fixtures from Restoration Hardware.

The Jelinek country residence is nestled in a Cragsmoor, New York, cottage community in the Catskill Mountains. The expansion and renovation of this simple farmhouse created a bright, sunlit breakfast room off a kitchen outfitted with Shaker-style cherry cabinets and granite countertops. The new kitchen showcases the owner’s collection of farm tools and folk-art objects in open shelves that integrated lights and electrical outlets. The renovation also included the construction of a new front entry to a large wraparound porch, new lighting, custom walnut occasional tables and built-in library and stereo cabinetry. The kitchen area was originally two spaces. The area in the foreground was a butlers pantry/ breakfast room that had been converted to a laundry room. The Kitchen was the area by the window, roughly 8' x 8' and completely cut off from the rest of the house. The island sits on what had been the dividing line between the kitchen and the dining room. We discovered some salvageable hardwood flooring under the linoleum, we brought in salvaged hardwood to match. All the floors were then stained English Chestnut. All the woodwork was removed for construction, then carefully re installed and stripped once the work was complete. The kitchen has a mix of 6" recessed cans, under cabinet lighting, and island pendants. The soffit over the cabinets conceals the HVAC ducting as well as the hood ducting.

This gray and transitional kitchen remodel bridges the gap between contemporary style and traditional style. The dark gray cabinetry, light gray walls, and white subway tile backsplash make for a beautiful, neutral canvas for the bold teal blue and yellow décor accented throughout the design. Designer Gwen Adair of Cabinet Supreme by Adair did a fabulous job at using grays to create a neutral backdrop to bring out the bright, vibrant colors that the homeowners love so much. This Milwaukee, WI kitchen is the perfect example of Dura Supreme's recent launch of gray paint finishes, it has been interesting to see these new cabinetry colors suddenly flowing across our manufacturing floor, destined for homes around the country. We've already seen an enthusiastic acceptance of these new colors as homeowners started immediately selecting our various shades of gray paints, like this example of “Storm Gray”, for their new homes and remodeling projects! This customer wanted to completely update the kitchen making it more modern, in preparation for possibly selling it in the next few years. The design, which included two-tone base and upper cabinets, Cambria SummerHill Quartz, chrome cabinet hardware, arabesque marble backsplash tile, and undercabinet lighting made the final product simply stellar!
