This cute felt ball wall hanging was created to match an embroidered bench in a special space known as "the grandchildren's loft". Working with an artist in new england, she carefuly matched the felted balls to creat a shield-shaped hanging. Kiwi colored paint was used to accent the shelf insets that hold toys, children's "art" and creations, books games and assorted treasures that personalize this loft.

Shown: Kährs Lux Horizon wood flooring Kährs have launched two new ultra-matt wood flooring collections, Lux and Lumen. Recently winning Gold for 'Best Flooring' at the 2017 House Beautiful Awards, Kährs' Lux collection includes nine one-strip plank format designs in an array of natural colours, which are mirrored in Lumen's three-strip designs. The new surface treatment applied to the designs is non reflective; enhancing the colour and beauty of real wood, whilst giving a silky, yet strong shield against wear and tear. Emanuel Lidberg, Head of Design at Kährs Group, says, “Lux and Lumen have been developed for design-led interiors, with abundant natural light, for example with floor-to-ceiling glazing. Traditional lacquer finishes reflect light which distracts from the floor’s appearance. Our new, ultra-matt finish minimizes reflections so that the wood’s natural grain and tone can be appreciated to the full." The contemporary Lux Collection features nine floors spanning from the milky white "Ash Air" to the earthy, deep-smoked "Oak Terra". Kährs' Lumen Collection offers mirrored three strip and two-strip designs to complement Lux, or offer an alternative interior look. All designs feature a brushed effect, accentuating the natural grain of the wood. All floors feature Kährs' multi-layered construction, with a surface layer of oak or ash. This engineered format is eco-friendly, whilst also making the floors more stable, and ideal for use with underfloor heating systems. Matching accessories, including mouldings, skirting and handmade stairnosing are also available for the new designs.

Our Indianapolis design studio designed a gut renovation of this home which opened up the floorplan and radically changed the functioning of the footprint. This home designed by our Indianapolis studio is a haven of unique design. It features a swanky music room lounge that we designed with bold botanicals and warm woods. The intimate hearth room flaunts floor-to-ceiling wainscot in smokey, soft blue and a cobblestone fireplace, while the powder room was given a bold, dramatic makeover with printed wallpaper. Architect: Geoff Chick & Associates Builder: Chris Clark Construction Our company supplied all exterior windows and doors by Weather Shield, E. F. San Juan custom Invincia impact doors, exterior trim, Ipe decking, interior doors, and interior trim. The main challenge was taking the design vision of the homeowner and the interior design team, Marianne Temple and Robyn Prince, and presenting solutions where our scope of work was concerned. The owners had expressed a desire to have very large custom sliding barn doors to completely cover some tall cased openings in the main first-floor hallway. We had several job-site meetings with contractor Chris Clark, the owners, and the design team to come up with the final design for the interior millwork. We designed and built massive barn doors made of select and pecky cypress for the first-floor entry hallway, much to the homeowner’s delight. They have described the doors as large works of art. The home also featured extensive use of solid wood paneling on the walls and ceilings to provide warmth to the interiors. It was a joy to work with such talented designers and builders and to help the owner's vision come alive. This was this owner’s second home in WaterColor to be completed using E. F. The living room itself is furnished with a modern sectional, commissioned artwork from the "Mediterranean Color Field" series and a custom "Labyrinth" wool and silk area rug. The openings at the balconies both in the Master Bedroom and in the guest bedroom areas upstairs were enlarged, and new railings inserted, that allow for uninterrupted views to the outside views through the two-story loft area. Black-out curtains may be drawn in each of these balconies to provide total escape from daylight. The two story glass wall itself is furnished with mechanized shades that come down to provide shield of the western light.
