Eliminating the barrier between the kitchen and the adjacent living area, provides a seamless flow that is perfect for entertaining guests or simply keeping an eye on the kids while cooking dinner. A Showstopping Island At the heart of this kitchen remodel is an expansive 9 ft. island, designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The island features a stunning White Pearl natural quartzite countertop that radiates elegance. With its unique veining and shimmering finish, this stone serves as a beautiful focal point and adds a touch of luxury to the space. A beverage cooler and dishwasher are tucked underneath, concealed from the view of the living area. Three 12” deep and 36” wide cabinets line the front of the island providing additional hidden storage. The gorgeous cabinets in this kitchen are our Echelon brand maple cabinetry. The style is Rutledge Square and the color is Linen. The counters are Cambria quartz in Edinburough, a striking shade of ebony that shimmers from within. We removed a side wall and built out for a custom pantry. Pureloc vinyl plank was used for the flooring in Concrete Dark.

SLDarch: The rugged Hajar Mountains ring the city while this rocky hillside setting offers great positioning to take in distant city lights set against the shimmering Gulf of Oman. With careful positioning, we were able to preserving the existing mature trees and nestle this home against the rugged desert mountains. Major views orient towards the north guarding against the relentless summer sun while providing massive vista views and open floor plan. Here we have a delightful interplay of open rooms and multi-levels, connected by gentle steps, ramps, stairs and elevator. Main living room has full ceiling skylight with deep geometric webs and reflective glass, allowing spangled sunlight throughout the interior spaces but blocking the excessive solar gain. Ample allocation for art display has been integrated throughout this home as well as a 1500 sf dedicated art gallery and two home office spaces as well as a built-in wood shop. A spiral stair leads to the rooftop aerie for evening star gazing, relaxing and cocktails.

This small bathroom remodel packs a huge punch! A guest bathroom in our client's home, this space is one of the remaining original rooms that hasn't been remodeled by our wonderful DIY client. Having already completed her kitchen and master bath on her own, our client reached out to us to assist with transforming this final dated bathroom. From pink & patterned to luxe and soothing, this bathroom has been massively transformed. We took out the existing floral wallpaper and pink tile and completely re-drywalled the bathroom to provide a new, smooth surface. We then covered this with an insanely gorgeous wallcovering that offers beautiful texture and shimmer. The original flooring was removed to make way for new large format porcelain tile in a warm gray hue. The existing bathtub and all fixtures were replaced with a new extra deep alcove tub from Duravit and shiny chrome fixtures from the Kohler Archer collection. A new furniture-look vanity replaced the old, accompanied by a new bright white toilet. Over the vanity, we've highlighted a sharp steel mirror with warm seeded glass pendants. We love the cozy ambiance this provides against the backdrop of cool gray layers in the space. Finally, the shower walls are tiled with stunning large format glass tiles in a contemporary grid pattern, and we've added an accent strip of Glam Greige mosaic for a little bit of playfulness. This project was demo to done in two weeks and we are obsessed with the final result. So happy our lovely client has a new room to retreat to!

This dining and kitchen space in a wabi-sabi lakeside retreat designed by PKA Architecture and Yond Interiors is grounded by antique elm flooring, with antique elm ceiling paneling and box beams carrying the same warm tone overhead. A long dining table with leather and rush-seat chairs sits beneath layered pendant lighting, while a wood-toned kitchen with open shelving and a wood bench divider with black steel columns continue the home's natural, restrained palette. Our antique elm flooring, ceiling paneling, and box beams are milled from barn timbers dating from 1820 to 1880, carrying unique marks such as wormholes, peg holes, and mortise pockets left behind by centuries old woodworking. Because widespread Dutch Elm Disease in the 1970s made new elm nearly impossible to find, reclaimed elm remains one of the only ways to bring its warm, inviting tones into a home. The natural hues of reclaimed elm are bright and comforting, showing tans, light browns, and a subtle tinge of red that gives the wood an almost iridescent shimmer, embodying the wabi-sabi appreciation for natural imperfection and the passage of time.
