For our #ElegantlyModernMakeover project in Holmdel, the client wanted something that felt modern and luxurious, a space that exuded a rich feeling of grandeur without going too over the top. I opted for a range of opulent grays mixed with metallic touches to give the room that added touch of glam. For the paint color, Sherwin Williams Zircon was the perfect match – a neutral gray that’s not too light, not too dark. A luxurious custom bedding ensemble was created using Eastern Accents Hendrix collection as a starting point. The duvet material was changed to the darker shade, “Idris Fog”. The palette was further juxtaposed with cushions and shams that ranged from deep charcoals to rich rippled patterns that shimmered with metallic finishes. To bring everything together, the Eastern Accents bed frame was customized in a muted gray velvet complete with a nailhead trim. At the foot of the bed, we continued with our gray palette featured in the bedding with a custom bench in Velda Charcoal from Eastern Accents. The deep shade of brown in the side tables from Magnussen contrasted with the lightness of the Surya shag rug. No room is complete without a bold table lamp and I couldn’t look past the modern pair from Uttermost that really tied the entire look together. For the seating area, atop the same style of rug that was used under the bed, we completed the space with two chaise lounges from Rowe in a Smoke shade, separated by two ottoman’s from Rowe in Pepper. The room was flooded with lots of natural light that I really wanted to capitalize on, so a floor length shade over allures was a perfect solution. Floor length panels in JF Fabric’s Liberty material over Lafayette Genesis Shades in Pearlescent Glacier gave the windows a sense of grandeur. They were finished with a rod from the Dec & Deco Acrylic Collection in Brushed Nickel, complete with a crystal finial.

The shimmering little powder room and full bath were carved out of former storage closets. The polished Emperador marble vanity is a custom design. Polished nickel faucets are by THG and the undercounter basins are by Waterworks. The inlaid marble floor gives the room an elegant flair in the powder room. Getting those quiet details right - the proportions and balance working together the Kitchen has become a comfortable and relaxing space.

A bathroom to suit a tween both now and as she grows was a unique challenge. By avoiding clichéd childish decor and incorporating timeless, elegant elements, we achieved a design that will evolve with her. We used classic materials like white subway tiles and recycled glass penny rounds for a pop of color and shimmer.

With a home on the lake, our clients were looking for a kitchen revival to match their love of a coastal modern look. Their original kitchen was monotone and bland with cabinets matching their flooring, and no pops of color. But with views overlooking the lake, bringing some of those natural elements inside along with a pop of color is just what this kitchen needed. As a result, we did a little minor demo, replaced door and drawer fronts, and incorporated new appliances, countertops, and backsplash. To learn more about this kitchen, continue reading below! Cabinets To revive this kitchen, we replaced the door and drawer fronts with brand new oak slab fronts from Woodmont to give it a modern look. We then incorporated new cabinetry on the island from Crestwood in a Metro door style and Ebony stain finish giving this kitchen a unified look and great functionality. Appliances New appliances include a Zephyr Tempest II hood in stainless steel, a 24" Dacor microwave drawer, and a 30" Dacor Distinctive dual-fuel range. Countertops As a contrast to the new darker stained cabinetry, we installed a bright quartz countertop from Caesarstone in the color Blizzard, giving this kitchen a balanced feel. Backsplash The backsplash is a reflection of the beautiful views our clients have of the lake. The shimmering and vibrant backsplash is a Hirsch Glass, in hourglass shape, and iridescent finish (XM0006). Fixtures and Finishes To complete this space, a new sink from Blanco (515824), a new pull-down faucet, also from Blanco (440616), and cabinet hardware from Top Knobs in brushed nickel (M1158) become the last elements that tie this space together.

Situated is an exclusive golf and tennis resort, this custom home was built with the discerning client in mind. The beautiful coffered ceilings add elegance to the home as well as all the shimmering glass tiles in the kitchen and bar area. High-end furnishings covered in mohair and vervets give the spaces a sophisticated and classic feel.

This show stopper, Houston Heights, impressive master bath proves just how much you can do when your space is limited. Universal Gray Sherwin Williams was used throughout the house. White shaker cabinetry with 10" chrome cabinet handles. Venatino Quartz was used to give a bit of warmth. A young bachelor sought the perfect environment for entertaining. An eglomise paneled entry sets the tone for this apartment where shimmering surfaces create the desired mood: a tiny lacquered kitchen doubles as a bar, shagreen wall covering under a gloss ceiling anchors the living room, and a Chinese lacquered screen in the bedroom completes the scene.

Design and construction by USI Design & Remodeling this bathroom floor features rectangular tile played in a herringbone pattern. The window behind the tub was cut out to allow more natural light, *see before picture.
