Perched high above the desert floor, this exclusive community of homes was designed specifically to take full advantage of close indoor/outdoor relationships, to showcase panoramic views and directional breezes. Adjacent mountains sweep across the site, and varied massing combined with rustic stone and wood beams recall historic European hill-towns. Each of the three plans incorporates multiple courtyards and porticos with a centralized, formal entry experience. The interplay of interior volumes articulates natural light and dramatic textures. Public and private spaces have been carefully zoned, to provide pockets of seclusion, balanced with generous entertainment areas. Inclusion of multiple water features combined with indigenous landscape seamlessly blend with the architecture to create a stunning sense of place among the rugged desert terrain. With a unique architectural element featuring two structural beams running crosswise through the kitchen, the cabinetry needed to work to enhance the detail. On the wish list was an impressive island with seating that could replace the large kitchen table. The kitchen was designed with 33” high custom wall cabinets of varying heights, to float unobtrusively below the beams. A window was removed in order to accommodate the new beautiful focal point; a custom designed stucco hood and cooking area with a decorative ledge niche. Skylights in the vaulted area produce ample light, allowing the sink to be relocated to the large center island. The cherry glazed island conceals two dishwashers, with a soft outer arc so that diners can see one another. An elegant dinette area was created to showcase glassware and store linens. With a matching wood top and a hidden TV, this beautiful furniture piece is in direct view from the living room area, making the kitchen, at a glance, as well appointed as the rest of the home. Softly distressed ivory cabinetry with a brown glaze lightened the originally dark kitchen, creating a roomy and cheerful space. Golden tumbled travertine and crackled glass details on the backsplash accentuate the dramatic “Grand Canyon” colors of the natural stone counter tops.

This door line can be modified and customized to any dimension and configuration necessary. Our client sought to modernize their classic 1970s home while preserving its original charm. This full-home renovation prioritized openness and functionality. We transformed the kitchen into a bright, welcoming space, leveled the sunken living room to expand the living area, and designed seamless indoor-outdoor connections to showcase breathtaking south-west facing golf course & ocean views. The result? A beautifully updated home that harmonizes mid-century character with contemporary comfort. The architecture was fun to work with, featuring dramatic roof pitches, a striking two-story double-sided fireplace, and thoughtfully designed room-to-room connections. Strategic wall cutouts and varying floor levels added interest and character, making this home a truly unique and dynamic space. The kitchen connects to the exterior, dining room, and living room, and features a peninsula and a cozy morning nook for gathering. Thoughtful flow was essential for this busy space, creating distinct yet harmonious spaces to enjoy throughout the home. Texture was thoughtfully incorporated using natural materials, including quartzite with cloud-like movement, woven light fixtures, and high-variation ceramic tile. Nestled up to an equally stunning home bar is this one of a kind glass front custom wine cellar / wine room in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. This trendy wine cellar is sleek with black wine racking, matching the black coated stainless steel frames in the glass front. Poplar wood was utilized for these wine racks, only to be finished with a modern / contemporary touch of staining them completely midnight black.
