The floor-to-ceiling cabinets provide customized, practical storage for hats, gloves, and shoes and just about anything else that comes through the door. To minimize scratches or dings, wainscoting was installed behind the bench for added durability. Kara Lashuay

This whole home renovation was a transformation of the main and upper floors, a garage conversion and a complete exterior facelift. The original garage was converted into a large practical mudroom, powder room, laundry and TV rooms. The walls between the kitchen, living and dining room were removed and a full island, bar area and a 6’ pantry were added. Shaker style cabinets in off white contrast with charcoal espresso cabinets for a dramatic effect in the kitchen. Hand scraped hickory hardwoods add durability and provide a solid foundation for the Ledgestone gas burning fireplace. Upstairs the master features floor to ceiling wall cabinets eliminating the need for a bureau. The ensuite is a beautiful retreat with a closed off water closet, double vanity and glass enclosed shower.

Inspiration for a huge contemporary marble floor foyer remodel in New York with white walls

Simple stainless steel appliances combined with the warm tones of the cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and hardwood floors create a timeless traditional design. The rectilinear details in the cabinetry trim and subway tile compliment that of the Stickley furniture style creating a cohesive space that blends seamlessly with the style of the home.

This kids bathroom is shared by their two daughters and connects to each of their bedrooms. Therefore, two separate sink areas were created with a center storage "shared" area. There is more storage in the medicine cabinets and underneath the sinks with custom pull out drawers. The bathroom was kept in green and white muted tones with the tile, cabinetry and countertop so it could be changed and accented through the years with the paint color (purple currently) and linen choices. The flooring is a Tessera glass mosaics and the wainscoting a classic white subway tile with an accent row of the flooring tile. There is a separate shower/toilet room created for privacy.

This mid-century ranch-style home in Pasadena, CA underwent a complete interior remodel and renovation. The kitchen walls separating it from the dining and living rooms were removed creating a sophisticated open-plan entertainment space.

We stripped, re-stained and sealed the existing maple cabinets a nutmeg color. Slab granite, subway tile backsplash with glass decorative mosaic tiles tie it all together. Investing in good storage can often be an afterthought on large projects, where budget become tight and decision fatigue sets in – yet it has such a huge impact on how a home feels to live in. This dressing area was tailored around the architectural outlines, real routines and real belongings, rather than a standard template. The aim was to make everything easy to see, easy to reach, and easy to put away again – which makes daily life that bit simpler. The streamlined and unfussy cabinetry keeps the look calm and uncluttered, while still providing plenty of practical space.
