This second-floor alcove and loft was in need of a design that beckoned anyone passing by to sit for a spell. Our design of the area included a soft, neutral color palette, a comfortable chaise, luxurious rug and silky, cream-colored curtain panels. Reading, napping or simply taking a much-needed break could now be done here.

Nestled next to a mountain side and backing up to a creek, this home encompasses the mountain feel. With its neutral yet rich exterior colors and textures, the architecture is simply picturesque. A custom Knotty Alder entry door is preceded by an arched stone column entry porch. White Oak flooring is featured throughout and accentuates the home’s stained beam and ceiling accents. Custom cabinetry in the Kitchen and Great Room create a personal touch unique to only this residence. The Master Bathroom features a free-standing tub and all-tiled shower. Upstairs, the game room boasts a large custom reclaimed barn wood sliding door. The Juliette balcony gracefully over looks the handsome Great Room. Downstairs the screen porch is cozy with a fireplace and wood accents. Sitting perpendicular to the home, the detached three-car garage mirrors the feel of the main house by staying with the same paint colors, and features an all metal roof. The spacious area above the garage is perfect for a future living or storage area.

Design choices in the kitchen informed finish selections in the rest of the home and reflect our clients’ eclectic style which leaned Scandinavian/Mid-modern with natural elements, moody colors and vintage nods thrown in. The entire first floor was touched during the renovation and included the kitchen, entryway, living & dining rooms, and everything in between. The living room was painted a dramatic matte green-black from top to bottom and is nothing short of striking. Reclaimed oak shelves were used in the built-ins to add visual interest to the monochromatic space. The fireplace was updated with a hexagon tiled hearth, new fire brick, and a convenient gas log insert, ensuring that the updated living room will no longer be just a forgotten pass-through, but will become a comfy and atmospheric place to hang. The dining room connects the front of the house to the back and the spaces transition tonally from dark to light. To create a true foyer, we added a new wall with cased opening to separate the living room from the front entry. Oak hardwood floors were sanded and refinished throughout the main level and the stair railing was given a makeover by simply painting the existing spindles black to unify the spaces. Vintage inspired light fixtures in the entry and living room complete the transformation.
