The laundry room was designed with both function and charm in mind. Patterned black-and-white mosaic floor tile adds a playful touch to the space, giving it personality without overwhelming the neutral palette. White cabinetry provides convenient storage, while the white porcelain countertop creates space for folding and organization. Practical yet thoughtfully designed, this laundry room makes everyday tasks feel a little more enjoyable.

This traditional kitchen design has a surprise around every corner, as it comes packed with amazing storage options throughout the kitchen. Behind the cherry glaze DuraSupreme cabinetry is a treasure trove of storage, including pull out shelves for small appliances, spice storage, a cutlery drawer insert, vertical storage for baking trays and cutting boards, a dish drawer with peg inserts, and a built in microwave. The island also includes a hidden ice dispenser and bar stools that store neatly underneath the island. A slate veneer hood, SubZero Wolf appliances, and Danze faucet are among the kitchen design details that make it the perfect center of this home.

VPC’s featured Custom Home Project of the Month for March is the spectacular Mountain Modern Lodge. With six bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths, this custom built 11,200 square foot timber frame residence exemplifies breathtaking mountain luxury.
The home borrows inspiration from its surroundings with smooth, thoughtful exteriors that harmonize with nature and create the ultimate getaway. A deck constructed with Brazilian hardwood runs the entire length of the house. Other exterior design elements include both copper and Douglas Fir beams, stone, standing seam metal roofing, and custom wire hand railing.
Upon entry, visitors are introduced to an impressively sized great room ornamented with tall, shiplap ceilings and a patina copper cantilever fireplace. The open floor plan includes Kolbe windows that welcome the sweeping vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The great room also includes access to the vast kitchen and dining area that features cabinets adorned with valances as well as double-swinging pantry doors. The kitchen countertops exhibit beautifully crafted granite with double waterfall edges and continuous grains.
VPC’s Modern Mountain Lodge is the very essence of sophistication and relaxation. Each step of this contemporary design was created in collaboration with the homeowners. VPC Builders could not be more pleased with the results of this custom-built residence.

This stunning kitchen with island was custom built to fit a kitchen that formerly had a peninsula and small table. The griege backsplash tile compliment the Berwyn Cambria countertop. Off white cabinetry is the perfect colour for the space and goes beautifully with island. Dark floors set off the entire kitchen. Flooring is hand scraped and wire brushed.

Countertop is a double granite with a reverse ½ bullnose edge. Having removed walls that had cabinetry, much-needed storage was created under the center island.

A reimagined laundry room is just what this stately home needed. A generous 110 square feet, the space housed only a washer, dryer and some basic wire shelving and wasn’t living up to its full potential. To maximize functionality, we repositioned appliances away from the wall and placed them on pedestals for improved ergonomics and accessibility. A tall storage cabinet was added to the left along with deep upper cabinets above – perfect for keeping essentials organized and within reach. The transformation continued with the addition of custom cabinetry, a deep utility sink, and a striking quartzite countertop that ties the whole space together. Rich green cabinetry is the true showstopper with custom touches such as crown molding and fully finished undersides. We replaced the dark, dated floor tiles with light, durable porcelain and introduced a beautiful hexagon tile backsplash for a refined yet hard-wearing finish. Two large windows flood the space with natural light, turning this once-forgotten utility space into a bright, welcoming hub you actually want to spend time in.

Utility room - small modern single-wall porcelain tile utility room idea in New York with an undermount sink, flat-panel cabinets, white cabinets, quartz countertops, gray walls and a side-by-side washer/dryer

Plumbing and wiring prevented the inclusion of a built-in med cab behind the sink so an existing niche was covered with a matching door to make the storage more private. A slim dual flush toilet makes the room feel less crowded.

When the clients first contacted us about their 1926 home, they stated "We want to make better use of the space and open it up a little. This seems right up your alley." That's right...we live on that alley, we love that alley!
Terah Beth designed a few schemes ranging from leaving all walls in place... to removing all walls that separated the dining, living, and the back nook from the kitchen. The clients decided to go big and knock 'em all down! This 'open concept' scheme created an airy and zen-like space filled with beautiful custom cabinetry with walnut accents including a huge peninsula countertop, floating shelves and range hood accent band. The walnut was sourced from a local fallen tree and crafted by a local artisan. So Crafty!

For three years this Westlake Village couple lived in a house that didn't quite fit their needs. With frequent houseguests staying for weeks at a time, the family needed more space, particularly in the cramped kitchen. So began their search for a new home. Though the couple viewed several residences, they realized nothing compared to the space and location of the house they already owned. The family knew JRP by reputation from friends who were JRP clients. After consulting with our team, the couple agreed a whole-home renovation was the way to the dream home they had been searching for. Inspired by top architectural magazines, the couple had a clear vision of how their home should look and feel: a clean, open, modern space with a mix of details that played to the family's lively spirit.
The highlight of this new, open floorplan home is the gorgeous kitchen perfect for hosting. The unified palette is soft and beautiful. Clean, bright surfaces underpin strong visual elements such as polished quartz countertops, brushed oak floors, and glass tiles set in a herringbone pattern. A center-island breakfast bar now sits opposite a giant picture window and a show-stopping view of the Santa Monica mountains. Upstairs, the redesigned master bath is what dreams are made of. The double vanity and freestanding tub were rearranged to maximize space while the wood tile floors and stunning rock backsplash add an elemental feel. Now completely transformed, every detail of this transitional home creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxing and entertaining.
