Hired by the owners to provide interior design services for a complete remodel of a mid-century home in Berkeley Hills, California this family of four’s wishes were to create a home that was inviting, playful, comfortable and modern. Slated with a quirky floor plan that needed a rational design solution we worked extensively with the homeowners to provide interior selections for all finishes, cabinet designs, redesign of the fireplace and custom media cabinet, headboard and platform bed. Hues of walnut, white, gray, blues and citrine yellow were selected to bring an overall inviting and playful modern palette. Regan Baker Design was responsible for construction documents and assited with construction administration to help ensure the designs were well executed. Styling and new furniture was paired to compliment a few existing key pieces, including a commissioned piece of art, side board, dining table, console desk, and of course the breathtaking view of San Francisco's Bay. Sight & Sound This clean modern south Oakville Ontario remodel proves you don’t need to move to a condo to completely update your surroundings. These Oakville empty nesters with an active social life aren't interested in “fuddy-duddy” decor. On the contrary, they are interested in the latest design trends, as well as the most current audio/visual components. The original stone fireplace was updated with a custom designed mantle and a new gas insert. The updated warm grey colour palette balances the natural stone making it an inviting focal point. The interior design included reconfiguring the room layout. Originally a smaller TV was located in-between the window and the fireplace and the sofa was where the current cabinet is now. Our new layout opens up the room taking full advantage of it’s size. The sumptuous sectional allows for relaxed tete a tete evenings as well as seating for larger groups. The additional leather occasional chair completes the conversation circle too. We naturally selected fabrics that are family friendly to ensure the grandchildren and adults can all be at ease. The flexibility of the 3 piece coffee table is both practical and adds an element of modern artistry. Grounding the room is a carpet graphic grey animal skin custom sized into an area rug. A fresh take on British Colonial style, this living room features a soothing color palette built on blue hues and neutral tones. A rich mahogany anchors the room while floor to ceiling windows create an open and airy feel.

Sophistication doesn’t have to feel stuffy, and this space is styled to prove that. From its debonair dark gray body fabric and paisley pillows, to the modest curves of its rolled arms, the Hanford Sofa is well-suited for a more formal setting, but flexible enough to be right at home in a casual space. Tailored to perfection, the Cordelia Charcoal Accent Chair gets cozy with a throw pillow and pale blue blanket.

Ivory plaster walls and honey stained wood ceiling, doors and trim contribute to the Italian Country flavor of this elegant living room. An Oushak rug in soft neutrals contrasts with the roughhewn texture of the hardwood flooring. Blue and ivory damask throw pillows accent the overstuffed sofa covered in an ultra-plush sandy hued chenille. In the arched niche behind the sofa hangs a traditional landscape painting, which is flanked by a pair of distressed blue wood baluster lamps. The set of four aqua blue swivel chairs are accented with turquoise velvet throw pillows banded in gold trim. Matching bronze and glass side tables stand between the chairs offering a place to rest a drink or book. The metal cocktail table with glass top echoes the bronze finish of the traditional iron chandelier. A heavily paneled door leads the way into the master bedroom. Aqua blue linen draperies adorned with beige trim frame the window and showcase the wonderful afternoon light that washes in from the porch.
