The owner said "any color but white" for her farmhouse kitchen country kitchen. Earthy and elemental materials are selected for the home that reference the barn without directly mimicking it. Wooden members found inside the barn and from other barns bridge ceilings and are used in floors along with rustic slate adding to a sense of simplicity to the farmhouse design.

After the renovation, the dogs have their own personal bowls and a customized washing area for when they come in from outside. The standing height dog washing station includes a Sterling shower base and Delta wall mount hand shower for easy washing without back pain. Even better, the lower cabinet opens up exposing retractable stairs for the retrievers’ easy access to bathing. An Elkay under mount sink for fresh water and easy draining was complimented by a Kohler Purist Lavatory faucet. These dogs quite possibly are the only ones with their own under mount sink! Plato Prelude cabinets provide plenty of cabinet space for dog food and other items. One golden retriever and four flat coated retrievers = a lot of food storage needs! To the left of the washing station is a food prep area and a medication storage location to keep everything organized. Porcelain fired earth ceramics 18" field tile was installed for a durable floor. An LG Hi-Macs Volcanics Solid Surface material was used on the counter tops featuring built-in food bowls. The dogs love the new amenities but the homeowners have a spectacular kitchen, improved dining/coffee experience, an efficient flow from the kitchen to the backyard, and functional designs to make their life easier.

The main level at this modern farmhouse has a great room and den bookended by stone fireplaces. The kitchen is at the center of the main living spaces where we designed multiple islands for smart base cabinet storage which still allows visual connection from the kitchen to all spaces. The open living spaces serve the owner’s desire to create a comfortable environment for entertaining during large family gatherings. There are plenty of spaces where everyone can spread out whether it be eating or cooking, watching TV or just chatting by the fireplace. Solid Apollo LED. In this new European inspired home, the designers wanted to create a lively living and entertainment room by installing color changing RGB LED Strip Lights in the ceiling coves created by the ceiling accent blocks. The LED Strip Light is installed facing down, to project the most light possible. The design of the LED Strip Light ensures there are no hot spots and only a seamless linear light is shown. The lights are controlled by the Glass Touch In-Wall RGB LED Controller for simple color selection and color changing pre-programmed programs.

Even small spaces can have big doses of pattern and color. This laundry room is adorned with a pink and gold striped Osborne and Little wallpaper. The bright pink and white patterned flooring coordinates with the wallpaper colors without fighting the pattern. The bright white cabinets and wood countertops lets the patterns and color shine. Fun and feminine are the best words to describe this girls bedroom. This entry way makes a bold statement right when you walk through the doors. The bookshelves are filled with family keepsakes and natural greenery. There are two paint colors with a subtle but noticeable difference that compliment each other and help define the large space. Brad Knipstein was the photographer.

This stately townhouse underwent a full renovation from both the DHD Architecture and Interiors team to provide a young family with rooms to grow into. Spaces were updated with contemporary furnishings and refined architectural details, while still honoring the classic, formal elements of the historic home. The expansive outdoor space is framed by the dining area’s floor to ceiling windows and bold window treatment. DHD’s interiors team aimed to transform the room into an inviting and livable space for the family, designing a custom kitchen banquette and using playfully bright, warm color tones. While the master bedroom keeps to a soft, muted palette incorporating deep shades of purples, the children’s rooms are extravagantly fun, complete with fuchsia bedding and oversized Lucite table lamps. A farmhouse style was achieved in this new construction home by keeping the details clean and simple. Shaker style cabinets and square stair parts moldings set the backdrop for incorporating our clients’ love of Asian antiques. We had fun re-purposing the different pieces she already had: two were made into bathroom vanities; and the turquoise console became the star of the house, welcoming visitors as they walk through the front door.

The family living in this shingled roofed home on the Peninsula loves color and pattern. At the heart of the two-story house, we created a library with high gloss lapis blue walls. The tête-à-tête provides an inviting place for the couple to read while their children play games at the antique card table. As a counterpoint, the open planned family, dining room, and kitchen have white walls. We selected a deep aubergine for the kitchen cabinetry. In the tranquil master suite, we layered celadon and sky blue while the daughters' room features pink, purple, and citrine.

Creating an indoor/outdoor connection was paramount for the master suite. This was to become the owner’s private oasis. A vaulted ceiling and window wall invite the flow of natural light. A fireplace and private exit to the garden house provide the perfect respite after a busy day. This 1920s colonial had “great bones” but the small, dark galley kitchen needed an overhaul. Studio Dearborn designed a fresh, inviting space with white and navy inset cabinetry crafted from solid maple. The navy blue island, albeit small, packs a ton of storage. The island is color matched to Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. White cabinetry in Benjamin Moore’s White Opulence, with white cararra marble countertops and white thassos mosaic backsplash keep the kitchen feeling light and airy.
