Located in San Rafael's sunny Dominican neighborhood, this East Coast-style brown shingle needed an infusion of color and pattern for a young family. Against the white walls in the combined entry and living room, we mixed mid-century silhouettes with bold blue, orange, lemon, and magenta shades. The living area segues to the dining room, which features an abstract graphic patterned wall covering. Across the way, a bright open kitchen allows for ample food prep and dining space. Outside we painted the poolhouse ombre teal. On the interior, we echoed the same fun colors of the home.

Remodeling your master bathroom in Calabasas offers the perfect opportunity to optimize both functionality and style. Custom features, such as built-in cabinetry and spacious shower designs, can transform an ordinary bathroom into a highly organized, luxurious retreat. I recently worked with a homeowner in Calabasas who struggled with limited storage and a dated design. By integrating custom storage cabinets and a sleek walk-in shower, we were able to create a space that not only looked great but solved their storage woes. The built-in cabinetry, combined with the shower’s marble finishes, added much-needed storage for linens, toiletries, and more, all while maintaining a clean, open layout. The result was a bathroom that was both practical for daily use and aesthetically aligned with the homeowner’s vision.

The moment you step through the sliding barn door to this ensuite, your eyes are drawn to the elegant shape of the volcanic and limestone Victoria & Albert tub. The bathroom is separated into a wet and dry space. In the wet space the large rain shower head is surrounded by custom sourced tile. The River Stone strip add to the spa like feel of this room.
The striking floating black walnut custom vanity offers plenty of storage and counter space and is accentuated by strategically placed lighting. The toilet is reoriented and concealed by a 5’ pony wall for added privacy.
Refined, contemporary bathroom fixtures and energy efficient toilet are the final touches of this bathroom retreat.

Client’s goal was to update the main floor and allow more natural light into this small-footprint home. They wanted an open, spacious, airy feeling to this floor.
The dated kitchen plus both small main and master bathrooms were remodeled. The scope also included the living and dining rooms, plus the front entry and stairwell.
Clients were also interested in: low maintenance finishes, usage of low/no VOC materials, good indoor air quality as they lived on site during the remodel, and preserving and refinishing salvageable resources.

Upper West Side Manhattan contemporary bathroom remodel featuring blue glass vessel sinks mounted on floating vanities, a blue mosaic glass tile shower, and large gray tile floor.

The bathroom was transformed with a multitude of materials. Our client has a strong affinity for nature. However, we wanted to maintain a spa feel in the space. Therefore, we incorporated a serene sage green paint on the walls and a stone patterned porcelain on the accent wall in hues of sage, blue and assorted neutrals. These elements combined with the cement tile flooring (also picked up in the shower niche) have a nature-inspired feel without being too literal. The rich stain on the custom vanity and linen cabinet also brings a sense of the outdoors into space while the polished nickel finishes and white color palette throughout create a crisp and sophisticated finish.
