TIKI BAR/DEN The modern interior design ideas used for this home reflect the picturesque surroundings, blending with the outdoor and enhancing the living spaces with simple, comfortable and elegant tropical décor. Pairing dark wood with bright tropical fabrics and continuing the white walls, tie this style into this modern home. The island vibe in your home is easier than moving to Hawaii. What really defines this style of decorating is incorporating bamboo with dark stained wood. Authenticity is key. Finding an item that was used in an actual tiki bar is a bonus, but simple hand carved signs, statues, masks, and other pieces of art still make a great addition to your tiki bar and even your living room.

What I love about this is everything! The texture, color and placement of the boulder in the background. The smoother, round stones in the dry creek. The lush, creeping lime groundcover around the boulder; the stalks of hostas shooting up like rockets; the feathery fern to the left; the delicate burgundy texture plant in the foreground and the dainty veronica spindling over the stone. All of these things are contrasts and are built in a very small, intimate area. Serious gardeners appreciate these things. Tucked away in the backwoods of Torch Lake, this home marries “rustic” with the sleek elegance of modern. The combination of wood, stone and metal textures embrace the charm of a classic farmhouse. Spire Integrated Systems installed Lutron QS Wireless motorized shades paired with Hartmann & Forbes windowcovers to offer privacy and block harsh light. The custom 18′ windowcover’s woven natural fabric complements the organic esthetics of the room. The shades are artfully concealed in the millwork when not in use. Spire installed B&W in-ceiling speakers and Sonance invisible in-wall speakers to deliver ambient music that emanates throughout the space with no visual footprint. Spire also installed a Sonance Landscape Audio System so the homeowner can enjoy music outside. Each system is easily controlled using Savant. Spire personalized the settings to the homeowner’s preference making controlling the home efficient and convenient.

Luxury Vinyl Planks are a great option for water areas like bathrooms, basements, and kitchens. The technology is advancing so that the product looks and feels like natural products like wood and stone.
