Anita Clark Design was contacted by a mutual friend and real estate broker that her client was moving to a new location in the Boston area and needed assistance to furnish this property. The homeowner had many of her own things she wanted to incorporate into the initial design such as a Rosewood dining table and sideboard, dining chairs and a dark chocolate brown suede sofa and chair that were overly sized and not scaled for the new space. These existing furniture pieces were not the best solutions for her new space which had weird angles and curves but were important to the client so Anita Clark Design took the we can do approach. After a few design sessions, showing her floor coverings, window treatments, etc. that would work with her existing pieces, she succumbed to the fact that it was probably not a cost effective solution to try to work with what she had in a space that was difficult to furnish from the start. Simultaneously, she also concluded with the recommendation that in stock and standard furnishings would not work either. Designed to fit each unique space were a custom sectional and ottomans that would not only fit the space properly but would be aesthetically correct and function perfectly along with custom shaped area rugs, window treatments and accessories to complete each room.

When our Boulder studio was tasked with furnishing this home, we went all out to create a gorgeous space for our clients. We decorated the bedroom with an in-stock bed, nightstand, and beautiful bedding. An original painting by an LA artist elevates the vibe and pulls the color palette together. In this kitchen remodel, Medallion Platinum Wellington door style cabinets with raised center panel in Biscotti stain were installed on the island and base cabinets. Floating shelves were stained to match. The remaining kitchen cabinets are Siteline Swanson flat center panel cabinets in Aspen paint finish. Top Knobs Ascendra pull and knobs in Honey Bronze hardware. On the countertop is Calacatta Bali quartz. The backsplash is Wow Enso 5 x 5 Kintsugi decorative field tile for the range area and Emser Raku White 3 x 12 gloss tile for the remaining area. A Blanco Diamond Silgranit single bowl undermount sink in white with Delta Monrovia single handle faucet with pull-down spray in Champagne Bronze finish. On the floor is Unfinished Red Oak 2-1/4” wide plank. Andersen 400 series awning window. On the fireplace is Emser Structure Ivory Stocked Ledge stone.

This project was Lars’ second time working with this wonderful Chula Vista family and when they contacted us with their ideas about what they wanted to accomplish in their home, we knew it was going to be special. The star of the show is this stunning kitchen with a massive island. Every detail was thought of and carefully crafted to blend seamlessly with the architecture of the home and how this family lives within it. Gorgeous off-white cabinetry paired with rich wood accents and flooring, custom made panels with intricate mirror detailing to conceal the SUBZERO/Wolf refrigerator and freezer, a built in wet bar to house an extensive whiskey collection, tile painstakingly set to capture each and every curve while flowing perfectly with the crown moulding, and a pantry that could easily rival The Home Edit stocked with every imaginable SUBZERO/Wolf countertop appliance and dual steam ovens. The large open concept space that flows into the living room was reconfigured to replace and center a large fireplace that features a direct-vent set up and stunning stone surround with custom built-ins flanking either side. New wood flooring throughout the downstairs features a classic herringbone pattern that gives special interest to a long hallway, while a new stair railing was custom designed with intricate detail to mirror an existing window design detail. The end result is stunning and we are so thrilled that this wonderful family will make memories in this home for years to come.
