A unique take on a modern Floridian style kitchen with a punch of color. The handmade green glass tiles by Trend Group were the driving force in this remodel. We were required to keep the sink and dishwasher in their original location. But we moved the stove from the left of the refrigerator, to the newly expanded island creating an oversized workspace. The clients love to socialize and by moving the stove, allowed for conversations to not be strained when someone is cooking. Our clients originally only fit 2 bar stools at the island. But once we doubled it in size, we were able to fit 4 bar stools and centralize the conversation area in this open concept design. The Cambria Annicca countertop is the piece de resistance adding a lot of flare o the space with its purple and gold detailing, complimenting the green backsplash. ARS fabricators hit a home run with the outstanding job they did on the gorgeous waterfall sides. Besides the kitchen, we also replaced all of the flooring throughout the home.

Explore this thoughtfully designed mudroom and laundry room sanctuary that is filled with both functionality and personality.
On the mudroom side, there is personalized organization for every member of the household. Thoughtfully integrated divided shoe shelves beneath a cozy boot bench, along with open storage perfectly sized for decorative baskets, and decorative coat hooks ensure every essential from seasonal accessories to everyday items (i.e. gloves, hats, scarves, shoes, jackets, etc.) has its designated place. Overhead, elegant closed storage conceals and organizes, maintaining a pristine aesthetic that endures.
On the laundry room side, experience the ultimate in ergonomic design with raised washer and dryers, seamlessly integrated for effortless access and reduced strain and bending. Below the machines, a locking roll-out shelf glides out smoothly creating a perfectly positioned platform to set a laundry basket at an easy-to-reach height for loading and unloading. All designed to transforming loading and unloading the washer and dryer into a seamless, comfortable task.

Phil and Rocio, little did you know how perfect your timing was when you came to us and asked for a “small but perfect home”. Fertile ground indeed as we thought about working on something like a precious gem, or what we’re calling a NEW Jewel.
So many of our clients now are building smaller homes because they simply don’t need a bigger one. Seems smart for many reasons: less vacuuming, less heating and cooling, less taxes. And for many, less strain on the finances as we get to the point where retirement shines bright and hopeful.
For the jewel of a home we wanted to start with 1,000 square feet. Enough room for a pleasant common area, a couple of away rooms for bed and work, a couple of bathrooms and yes to a mudroom and pantry. (For Phil and Rocio’s, we ended up with 1,140 square feet.)
The Jewel would not compromise on design intent, envelope or craft intensity. This is the big benefit of the smaller footprint, of course. By using a pure and simple form for the house volume, a true jewel would have enough money in the budget for the highest quality materials, net-zero levels of insulation, triple pane windows, and a high-efficiency heat pump. Additionally, the doors would be handcrafted, the cabinets solid wood, the finishes exquisite, and craftsmanship shudderingly excellent.
Our many thanks to Phil and Rocio for including us in their dream home project. It is truly a Jewel!
From the homeowners (read their full note here):
“It is quite difficult to express the deep sense of gratitude we feel towards everyone that contributed to the Jewel…many of which I don’t have the ability to send this to, or even be able to name. The artistic, creative flair combined with real-life practicality is a major component of our place we will love for many years to come.
Please pass on our thanks to everyone that was involved. We look forward to visits from any and all as time goes by."

This is a design-build indoor garden room which provides space for seed starting, full sized plants and a hydroponic system. This space features an efficient mini-split unit for heating and cooling as well as an automated exhaust system with passive air intake for balanced ventilation. Powered by a small solar array and Tesla Powerwall. This project, and the home it’s attached to, is slated to be at or near net zero energy.
This project is a great example of the benefit of hiring not only a general contractor, but an architect as well (and in our case a design-build firm that is qualified to fill both roles). The design of the space and the systems within the room, paired with quality and thoughtful execution of the plans are what we aim for with all of our projects.

Combined kitchen, family room, and adjacent dining room (not shown) create a large great room in the back of the home. Easy access to the back deck allows for seamless entertaining. Large wall-mounted TV above fireplace is on a pivoting bracket to prevent neck strain as the distance of the seating is fairly short.

The modern wood panel in this study room adds a sleek, contemporary touch while enhancing both style and functionality. Positioned along the wall behind the desk, the panel features integrated LED lighting that casts a warm, focused glow across the workspace. This lighting not only creates a visually appealing backdrop but also provides ample illumination for reading, writing, and studying.
The wood's natural texture brings warmth to the room, balancing the modern design elements and creating an inviting, productive atmosphere. The soft LED lights embedded within the panel provide subtle, even lighting that minimizes eye strain, making it ideal for focused study sessions. This combination of modern aesthetics with practical lighting solutions elevates the room, adding a sophisticated layer of design that enhances the overall functionality.

And for not putting a strain on eyes as in other zones we used more similar to each other white and bright beige colors for the master bedroom finishing.
