Smokey turquoise glass tiles cover this luxury bath with an interplay of stacked and gridded tile patterns that enhances the sophistication of the monochromatic palette.
Floor to ceiling glass panes define a breathtaking steam shower. Every detail takes the homeowner’s needs into account, including an in-wall waterfall element above the shower bench. Griffin Designs measured not only the space but also the seated homeowner to ensure a soothing stream of water that cascades onto the shoulders, hits just the right places, and melts away the stresses of the day.
Space conserving features such as the wall-hung toilet allowed for more flexibility in the layout. With more possibilities came more storage. Replacing the original pedestal sink, a bureau-style vanity spans four feet and offers six generously sized drawers. One drawer comes complete with outlets to discretely hide away accessories, like a hair dryer, while maximizing function. An additional recessed medicine cabinet measures almost six feet in height.
The comforts of this primary bath continue with radiant floor heating, a built-in towel warmer, and thoughtfully placed niches to hold all the bits and bobs in style.

Collaborations with builders on new construction is a favorite part of my job. I love seeing a house go up from the blueprints to the end of the build. It is always a journey filled with a thousand decisions, some creative on-the-spot thinking and yes, usually a few stressful moments. This Naperville project was a collaboration with a local builder and architect. The Kitchen Studio collaborated by completing the cabinetry design and final layout for the entire home.
Around the corner is the home office that is painted a custom color to match the cabinetry. The wall of cabinetry along the back of the room features a roll out printer cabinet, along with drawers and open shelving for books and display. We are pretty sure a lot of work must get done in here with all these handy features!
If you are building a new home, The Kitchen Studio can offer expert help to make the most of your new construction home. We provide the expertise needed to ensure that you are getting the most of your investment when it comes to cabinetry, design and storage solutions. Give us a call if you would like to find out more!

transFORM’s custom designed wall beds provide comfort, convenience and charm without sacrificing valuable floor space. This multifunctional unit was made with White High Gloss and complementing Latte and Light Driftwood finishes. Tastefully accented with large handle, chrome finished hardware and paired with a pop of color, this neutral combination proves to be anything but dull.
Convenience and functionality play a big role in the design of this unit. A wall bed is a perfect addition to any spot that doubles as a guest room or has a limited amount of floor space. Converting your wall bed is a stress-free operation that requires very little effort. In just a few seconds you can unfold this convenient bed into instant sleeping arrangements, complete with a comfortable standard-size mattress. Our convertible design makes it simple to fold out the bed and tuck it back away when not in use.
This dual-purpose unit was designed with tons of cabinetry and shelving for extra storage. With two large cabinets, you can easily hang a long skirt with enough room underneath to store your favorite footwear. Front to back pull-out hanging rods provide ample hanging space in a shallow cabinet. Visualizing your available clothing options face on will cut down the time it takes to mix and match the perfect ensemble.
This design also includes plenty of deep drawer storage, which can be a useful place for storing spare linens. Top shelves are a perfect way to personalize your room with mementos, collectibles and home décor. Open shelving offers a substantial amount of depth, allowing you to display your exclusive handbags. Conveniently kept in the lower cabinet is a hide away ironing board. The drawer mounted ironing board slides out when needed and easily folds up when not in use. It also rotates, which gives you the freedom to position it where you feel most comfortable. Having necessities readily available can make tedious house chores a little more enjoyable.
This design is completed with integrated LED lighting. Positioned by the bed, touch dimmable LED’s provide mood lighting for your living space. Within the open shelving, recessed LED lights enhance the look of the unit while showcasing your displayed possessions. Our lighting systems offer features such as touch switches and dimmers, which allow you to set the right scene and feel at ease and relaxed at home.

Doing laundry can be tedious, mundane and a little stressful but in this space, doing laundry can be more satisfying with the pets around. Wellborn’s cabinetry was used throughout this design, with the Saybrook door style in Maple and complete in the newly launched Gray Mist with a Granite glaze.

Design, Material choices and Photos by: TANGERINEdesign. Clean, fresh Kitchen remodel on a tight budget. Includes granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, under-mount sink, engineered flooring, subway tile, and more!

The idea for this kitchen was rustic country and the recycled beams and knotted alder cabinets complete the look.
We expanded the counter and designed it with two tiers to give a seating area without taking space away from the kitchen.

Whether it’s arthritis, joint or back pain, restless leg syndrome, muscle injuries or fibromyalgia, hot tubs are a proven form of chronic pain relief. The heat of the water increases blood flow and relaxes the body, while the massaging action of the jets and the water’s buoyancy loosen muscle tension and soothe sore joints.
The New England Journal of Medicine (08-16-1999) found that, after just 10 days, patients with Type 2 Diabetes who used hot tubs 30 minutes a day/6 days per week required reduced doses of insulin, lost weight, slept better and showed distinct decreases in plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin.
Hot tubs can be a great fix for those suffering from insomnia, helping your body to wind down before bed and get the natural sleep you need. Even if you don’t suffer from chronic sleep problems, the Better Sleep Council recommends establishing a relaxing bedtime routine, such as soaking in hot water to help maintain a healthy sleep cycle. According to the Council’s findings, warm water releases muscle tension and increases blood flow, both of which contribute to a relaxed and deeper, more comfortable sleep.
Whether it’s a new exercise routine or an unusually active day on your feet, most of us know the “day after” feeling of sore, overworked muscles that make it hurt to move, period. The water pressure from hot tub jets relieves muscle tightness and soreness by removing lactic acid, opening up the blood vessels and promoting the flow of endorphins. LPGA Sports Medicine Director Caroline Nichols and former President of the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine Dr. James Andrews recommend hydrotherapeutic activity for athletes at every level. Nichols says that hot tubs especially help with recovery since jets focus on overused muscle and joint regions, while Andrews supports hydrotherapy as a good tool for improved circulation, sensory impulses and stiff joints.
Whether you’re looking to alleviate stress, feel healthier or simply spend more time with your loved ones, you’d be amazed at how as little as 10 minutes in a hot tub can help you relax and put everything in perspective. There are hot tubs for every type of user, regardless of whether it’s just you or it’s the entire gang piling in, looking for some much-needed relief after a long day.

The cedar tub relates to the cedar deck, benches and beam screens. This view is from the door of the ADU looking out into the space. The greenhouse like material we used on the fence acts as a changing art piece where the shadows and lights interact with it. I designed it to be modern Shoji like screens.

This peninsula is the perfect size for a couple sitting places and the design allows for more surface area when working and storage space underneath.
The three pendant lights above provide additional lighting and the sleek silver matches the cabinetry's hardware.
