The design of this 4500sf, home….the steeply-sloping site; we thought of it as a tree house for grownups. Nestled into the hillside and surrounding by Aspens as well as Lodgepole and Ponderosa Pines, this HERS 38 home combines energy efficiency with a strong mountain palette of stone, stucco, and timber to blend with its surroundings.
A strong stone base breaks up the massing of the three-story façade, with an expansive deck establishing a piano noble (elevated main floor) to take full advantage of the property’s amazing views and the owners’ desire for indoor/outdoor living. High ceilings and large windows create a light, spacious entry, which terminates into a custom hickory stair that winds its way to the center of the home. The open floor plan and French doors connect the great room to a gourmet kitchen, dining room, and flagstone patio terraced into the landscaped hillside. Landing dramatically in the great room, a stone fireplace anchors the space, while a wall of glass opens to the soaring covered deck, whose structure was designed to minimize any obstructions to the view.

A sophisticated home office defined by a dramatic black vertical-slat feature wall behind the workspace. The textured backdrop is balanced by warm leather seating and a streamlined glass-top desk, creating a professional space with strong architectural character.

Your outdoor space should feel like a natural place to relax, rather than just an empty area behind your home. Redrra Deck Seattle is a dependable deck builder Seattle who creates decks that are comfortable, durable, and suitable for everyday use. We prioritize thoughtful layouts, strong structural support, and materials that can withstand changing weather. Every deck we build is intended to feel open, stable, and simple to use.

In this historic New Orleans commercial apartment building,
our team was brought in to deliver a full roof system replacement—one that would honor the building’s legacy while meeting today’s highest standards for safety and resilience.
We began by removing the old roofing down to the deck, installing brand-new sheathing to strengthen the structure from the inside out. An Ice & Water Shield system followed—offering the kind of deep protection that’s especially important in our climate. The finishing touch: rich terracotta tiles, chosen not only for their durability but for the timeless look they lend to this storied structure.
Start to finish, the transformation took just two days. We worked swiftly and cleanly, coordinating every phase—from demo to final inspection—with care. The result: a wind mitigation–certified roof that’s as strong as it is striking.
This upgrade wasn’t just about replacing a roof—it was about protecting the people and preserving the place they call home.
Thank you for trusting us with your project.

At this stage of Shiloh Retreat, the framing is complete and the home’s distinctive modern farmhouse form is coming into focus. The balance of steep rooflines, open gables, and strong symmetry establishes the architectural identity that will define the finished exterior. Wrapped in Tyvek and prepped for the next phase of construction, this moment captures the raw beauty of the building process—where vision begins to meet structure. Even before finishes and materials are applied, the clean lines and thoughtful proportions reveal the craftsmanship and precision behind every Oak & Iron build.

Backsplash Adds Character, Structure & Identity to a Kitchen
A backsplash is one of the most underrated design elements in a kitchen.

In this project, the custom tile selection transformed the kitchen from a standard cooking area into a statement feature with a clean modern aesthetic and strong visual identity.
The right backsplash can:
• Add warmth and character
• Create a focal point

• Elevate the overall architectural design
At Texan Landscape Group, we believe the small details are what make a project stand out.

This view showcases the beautiful curve of the retaining wall at the back of the grassy terrace, which together with the sturdy boulder wall at its front, defines the lawn with natural, flowing lines. The boulder walls provide essential structural support for the hillside while adding rustic beauty and texture. A carefully chosen mix of shrubs and flowering perennials brings seasonal color and softness, balancing the strong stone elements. Structure and beauty, working together.

Here is a far shot of the beam screens from the dining area and context photo for them. The various levels are more evident as you walk through the garden and pan through these garden photos. The dining area comes level off the house and the screens and diagonal decking detail help the deck not feel too long and act as a visual queue to denote the next space. When designing diagonal decking, one has to be mindful of the deck framing to accommodate so it is something consider early in the design process.

SDH Studio - Architecture and Design
Location: Golden Beach, Florida, USA
Conceptualized as minimalist assembly of structures on the edge of the canal in Golden Beach, the design emphasizes the views of the water while creating a strong connection between the interior and the exterior of the home.

This garden follows the architecture of the house which was completely redesigned to reflect the owner's love of Mission style architecture. Palms of various sizes are massed to provide the structure which they lack on their own. Sizeable ferns throughout the garden provide and underlying texture and dynamism. Annuals in hot colours, bananas and coleus provide seasonal thrill. The highly textured foliage of Albizzias add an exotic note and will, over time, increase the play of light and shadow in the garden.
The biggest challenge was creating a relationship between the house, which sits high on the lot, and the garden. A strong sense of indoor outdoor connection was achieved from both the basement and main level of the house by creating landings and enclosed courtyards ensconced by generously filled planters that lead up to the main garden.

The garden was designed to be enjoyed from ground level and from the balcony above --- with an eyeful of joyous color that suits the client's personality to a tee. Plantings include lots of roses from her "favorite roses" list, with perennials and a few annuals to knit it all together. It can be very challenging to make a collection of plants into a cohesive and delightful garden --- and the strong structure of this garden does just that!
