A study on calm and elevation At Aurora Archviz, we design spaces where serenity becomes architecture. In this bedroom, light, materiality, and proportion work together to create an atmosphere that feels both expansive and intimately grounded. Soft wood tones extend across the room, offering warmth without weight. The low platform bed reinforces a sense of tranquility, its clean geometry balanced by organic elements—sculptural tables, natural fibers, and gentle textures that invite slow living. Light enters through a wide horizontal window, diffusing across surfaces and softening every edge. The ceiling’s recessed glow adds depth, guiding the eye through the space while keeping the ambiance quiet and contemplative. Here, minimalism becomes a form of comfort. Every element is intentional: the artwork, the speakers, the subtle decor. Nothing distracts, yet everything contributes to a feeling of calm elevation. The Madrid's entryway welcomes you with its pristine white siding, creating a fresh and inviting ambiance. Black windows with white window trim add a touch of modern sophistication, drawing attention to the architectural features of the home. A potted plant adds a pop of greenery, infusing the entryway with a natural and vibrant element. The dressed wood soffits bring a charming rustic touch, adding warmth and character to the exterior design. A solid concrete slab forms a sturdy foundation, ensuring durability and stability. As you step through the entryway, a hallway leads you to the living room and study, guiding you further into the heart of the home. The Madrid's entryway sets the stage for a stylish and welcoming interior, inviting you to explore and make yourself at home.

One moves from the foyer into the heart of the house - the spacious living room. This is where our client likes to entertain, so we wanted this space to make a statement. We have stuck to a monochrome colour palette while playing with textures. This pared-down palette is the perfect backdrop for the eclectic artworks, photographs, and travel memorabilia collected over the years. White fluting along one wall guides the eye towards the pièce de résistance - a ‘bindu’/red dot painting, nestled amidst books in the study.

For this kitchen dining room, I used 'biophilic design' as my guiding principle – strengthening the interiors’ connection to the nature outside. By translating the soft greens, earthy tones, and organic textures of Verulamium Park, which borders the property, into the interior I created a sensory experience that feels deeply personal to this location.

For this Bedroom remodel, our design approach embraces both functionality and aesthetic refinement, crafting a space that seamlessly integrates elements conducive to study, organization, and relaxation. With the introduction of a dedicated study area, we prioritize productivity and concentration, providing a conducive environment for academic pursuits. The incorporation of multiple wardrobes ensures ample storage solutions without compromising the room's visual appeal, promoting an organized and clutter-free living space. Complementing these practical features, a mini lounge sofa offers a cozy retreat for leisure and contemplation, adding a touch of comfort and elegance to the room's ambiance. Guided by a carefully curated palette of wooden accents, vibrant oranges, and soothing beiges, our design scheme strikes a harmonious balance between warmth and sophistication. Each hue is thoughtfully selected to evoke a sense of tranquility and maturity, creating a welcoming atmosphere that resonates with the occupant's evolving sensibilities. From the clean lines of the furniture to the strategic placement of decorative elements, every aspect of the design is executed with precision and purpose. The result is a refined and inviting space that reflects the individuality of its inhabitant while seamlessly transitioning from childhood whimsy to mature elegance."

Studying master architect, Le Corbusier’s control of light in his famous monastery, La Tourette. In the afternoon, a friar embarks on a solitary hike through the woods surrounding the convent. Upon his return, he is met with a solemn staircase at the west entrance of La Tourette. Sprouting from the grass beneath, they beckon to the friar. He reaches the dimly lit opening to a cloister, admiring the upward slope of the ceiling. Asymmetrical windows facing the adjacent courtyard comprise the right side of the hall. The friar continues his journey through the cloister. The ceiling reaches maximum height, revealing a moderately sized atrium. Tall, open walls reach for the heavens, inviting the friar to meditate as divine light shines onto him in rhythmic vertical patterns. He reflects upon his life before becoming a member of the Couvent. He had meandered aimlessly through life until religion finally offered direction. God tenderly guides the friar as the staircase draws him to enter the cloister. The fabric of La Tourette defines a religious experience; its very shadows encouraging the devout musings of the deferential friar.
