The beautiful master bathroom was completely transformed and includes porcelain tiles on walls and floors, Ceasarstone countertops, custom shaker style cabinets, custom frameless mirror side to side, a freestanding tub, new windows with niche and a shower with floating bench, infinity drain and custom frameless enclosure.

This year, transFORM designed, manufactured and installed a custom walk-in closet / dressing room for Real Housewives of New York star, Carole Radziwill. The unit was made with High Gloss Silver, High Gloss Graphite and a combination of custom, textured finishes. These artistically inspired elements work together to create a beautiful appearance, stunning depth of look, and smooth, touchable feel that exceeds expectations. The juxtaposition of soft gray finishes, and eclectic, globally-influenced accessories makes for a charming, sophisticated sanctuary. There are two sections of floor-to-ceiling shoe shelves with Matte Nickel shoe fences, which were purposely installed on a slant to provide easy access. Clean lines, both elegant and refined, allow Carole to locate her beloved pair of Jimmy Choos while emerging from an early morning haze. Innovative details and contemporary technique come together in a seamless and harmonious way. High and low hanging sections afford Carole enough room to organize her items based on size. This type of mechanism offers more depth than a standard hanging system. Open, adjustable shelving also adds a substantial amount of space to display bulky sweaters, smaller collectibles and exclusive handbags. transFORM integrated a lovely combination of energy efficient lighting options throughout the unit. The recessed LED strip lights pulse through the Metal, Swarovski Crystal hardware and create an even higher level of awareness and perception. This effect makes the space look more unique, user-friendly and accommodating. Behind closed doors, we have an elite scarf rack and sliding pant rack, both in a Matte Nickel finish. Additionally, an elegant full-length mirror that pivots and slides was added in Matte Aluminum.

This contemporary conservatory is located just off of historic Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The stately home featured many classic exterior details and was located in the heart of the famous district, so Sunspace worked closely with the owners and their architect to design a space that would blend with the existing home and ultimately be approved for construction by the Cambridge Historical Commission. The project began with the removal of an old greenhouse structure which had outlived its usefulness. The removal of the greenhouse gave the owners the perfect opportunity substantially upgrade the space. Sunspace opened the wall between the conservatory and the existing home to allow natural light to penetrate the building. We used Marvin windows and doors to help create the look we needed for the exterior, thereby creating a seamless blend between the existing and new construction. The clients requested a space that would be comfortable year-round, so the use of energy efficient doors and windows as well as high performance roof glass was critically important. We chose a PPG Solar Ban 70 XL treatment and added Argon glass. The efficiency of the roof glass and the Marvin windows allowed us to provide an economical approach to the client’s heating and air conditioning needs. The final result saw the transformation of an outdated space and into a historically appropriate custom glass space which allows for beautiful, natural light to enter the home. The clients now use this space every day.

This West Lake Hills kitchen remodel transformed the existing kitchen without requiring complete cabinet replacement. The perimeter kitchen cabinets were professionally painted Benjamin Moore HC-173 Edgecomb Gray in a satin finish, while the island was painted Benjamin Moore 2134-30 Iron Mountain in satin. The contrasting cabinet colors created a two-tone kitchen design while preserving the existing cabinetry and layout. In addition to cabinet painting, we converted an existing cabinet to include a custom pullout trash can, installed new cabinet hardware, added a new tile backsplash, and painted the kitchen walls Benjamin Moore OC-19 Seapearl in a matte finish. The finished kitchen demonstrates how cabinet painting can be combined with functional cabinet modifications and other remodeling updates to create a substantial transformation without replacing an existing cabinet system that still works well.

In this kitchen up in Desert Mountain, we provided all of the cabinetry, countertops and backsplash to create the Mid Century Modern style for our clients remodel. The transformation is substantial compared to the size and layout it was before, making it more linear and doubling in size. For the perimeter we have white skinny shaker cabinetry with pops of Hickory wood to add some warmth and a seamless countertop backsplash. The island features painted black cabinetry with the skinny shaker style for some contrast and is over 14' long with enough seating for 8 people. In the fireplace bar area, we have also the black cabinetry with a fun pop of color for the backsplash tile along with honed black granite countertops. The selection choices of painted cabinetry, wood tones, gold metals, concrete flooring and furniture selections carry the style throughout and brings in great texture, contrast and warmth.

Well-traveled. Relaxed. Timeless. Our well-traveled clients were soon-to-be empty nesters when they approached us for help reimagining their Presidio Heights home. The expansive Spanish-Revival residence originally constructed in 1908 had been substantially renovated 8 year prior, but needed some adaptations to better suit the needs of a family with three college-bound teens. We evolved the space to be a bright, relaxed reflection of the family’s time together, revising the function and layout of the ground-floor rooms and filling them with casual, comfortable furnishings and artifacts collected abroad. One of the key changes we made to the space plan was to eliminate the formal dining room and transform an area off the kitchen into a casual gathering spot for our clients and their children. The expandable table and coffee/wine bar means the room can handle large dinner parties and small study sessions with similar ease. The family room was relocated from a lower level to be more central part of the main floor, encouraging more quality family time, and freeing up space for a spacious home gym. In the living room, lounge-worthy upholstery grounds the space, encouraging a relaxed and effortless West Coast vibe. Exposed wood beams recall the original Spanish-influence, but feel updated and fresh in a light wood stain. Throughout the entry and main floor, found artifacts punctate the softer textures — ceramics from New Mexico, religious sculpture from Asia and a quirky wall-mounted phone that belonged to our client’s grandmother.

Referred to inside H&H as “the basement of dreams,” this project transformed a raw, dark, unfinished basement into a bright living space flooded with daylight. Working with architect Sean Barnett of Polymath Studio, Hammer & Hand added several 4’ windows to the perimeter of the basement, a new entrance, and wired the unit for future ADU conversion. This basement is filled with custom touches reflecting the young family’s project goals. H&H milled custom trim to match the existing home’s trim, making the basement feel original to the historic house. The H&H shop crafted a barn door with an inlaid chalkboard for their toddler to draw on, while the rest of the H&H team designed a custom closet with movable hanging racks to store and dry their camping gear. Looking at this home today, you would never know that the project began as a poorly maintained duplex. Luckily, the homeowners saw past the worn façade and engaged our team to uncover and update the Victorian gem that lay underneath. Taking special care to preserve the historical integrity of the 100-year-old floor plan, we returned the home back to its original glory as a grand, single family home. The project included many renovations, both small and large, including the addition of a a wraparound porch to bring the façade closer to the street, a gable with custom scrollwork to accent the new front door, and a more substantial balustrade. Windows were added to bring in more light and some interior walls were removed to open up the public spaces to accommodate the family’s lifestyle.
