HouseHome was invited to take a super blah Living Room, empty for years, and created a space the clients would want to relax in and entertain. We customized bookcases, changed out the carpet for hardwood, and added gorgeous furniture, lighting and decor. We also modernized and updated the foyer with statement lighting and sleek new railings. The homeowners absolutely love their new space that is now completely functional, comfortable, and welcoming to friends and family.

They set out to transform their master bathroom into a space that better suited their tastes and functional needs. The goal was to update the shower, bathtub, and vanity area, and incorporate sleek finishes.
The new shower features a deeper and wider space, including a new wall with Super White Wind Glossy 12x24 tiles that were laid out, complemented by accent tiles Annie Selke Flora Vapor Blue Porcelain 18x18.
Noteworthy additions included a new valve, trim kit, a regular shower head, a handheld shower fixture, and Penny Round Matte White Porcelain Mosaic on the shower flooring.
It was finalized with new frameless tempered glass doors that swing both in and out, enhancing the openness of the space.
The bathtub area received a significant upgrade with the installation of a new Zaida 67" Acrylic Soaking Freestanding Tub. The area around the bathtub was tiled to match the shower wall tile.
In the vanity area, new Calacatta Delios Quartz countertops were installed along with two new vanity sinks, elevating the elegance and functionality of the space.

The owners of this lovely 1960s ranch home were over living with an out of date and awkward kitchen, so they enlisted our help to bring their dream kitchen to life. Right off the bat we all agreed that is was best to keep with the era of the home with a sleek modern kitchen featuring slab door cabinets. Our clients also wanted to space to feel brighter and more spacious with room for entertaining friends and family. So we knocked down a wall, filled in an unused door, and shortened a window so we could wrap this kitchen and create an optimal working triangle. We selected a maple cabinet with a medium-light stain, a light neutral porcelain floor tile, bright white glass backsplash with a mid-mod feature tile, and a variety of lighting. To create a space perfect for entertaining, we added a small peninsula for barstool seating. Behind the cabinet doors and drawers are many storage features including a double bin pull-out trash can, full access roll-out trays, pull out base cabinet pantry, super-susan corner cabinet, a wall cabinet for the microwave, and a pantry/fridge enclosure with roll-out trays. The sunroom received a facelift that covered the exterior brick to hide the modifications of walling up a door and raising the window sill height. It also created the sense that this space is an extension of the home, not just an exterior sunroom. We addressed the awkward step into the sunroom and installed new tile flooring. We finished the space of with a warm gray paint and soft sheers. This was such a fun and exciting project!! Cheers to our lovely clients and their gorgeous new kitchen and sunroom.

A new deck with some sleek but traditional components. The layout of this one is perfect and was ultra-efficient on materials and is super strong underfoot. The lighting really adds a lot at night.

Contemporary kitchens are the epitome of the sleek, minimalist layout. Characterized by dark wood or black cabinetry, fresh white countertops, and smooth stainless steel appliances, the contemporary kitchen is functional and sometimes artistic in nature.

Slab cabinet doors provide a sleek look, while the stone, hexagon tile backsplash brings in color. Both of these design elements extend to the ceiling, drawing eyes upward and making the space feel larger.

Our clients wanted to create the ultimate entertaining space. It was important for the basement to have a connection to the outdoors, as this was part of a larger project including their deck and patio. The window at the bar is a double casement that opens super wide to act as a pass-through to the patio space. We also changed up the traditional slider to a pair of custom black metal french doors that really make a statement. The clients wanted the vibe to be fun and modern . The three dimensional tile the sleek electric fireplace create the perfect focal point in the TV room. We utilized the space under the stairs for a small wine room that is temperature controlled. The wine room paired with the wood and cable stair railing creates a beautiful and modern centerpiece to the bar and game area. The bright, floral wallpaper in the bathroom adds a fun touch to a small space. Ultimately, we created the perfect place for this family to hang out with each other for movie nights or invite friends over for both indoor and outdoor entertaining.

This quaint home, located in Plano’s prestigious Willow Bend Polo Club, underwent some super fun updates during our renovation and refurnishing project! The clients’ love for bright colors, mid-century modern elements, and bold looks led us to designing a black and white bathroom with black paned glass, colorful hues in the game room and bedrooms, and a sleek new “work from home” space for working in style. The clients love using their new spaces and have decided to let us continue designing these looks throughout additional areas in the home!

Ideal For: Creating a commanding, conversation-starting focal point in dining rooms, home offices, or luxury living spaces.

Our clients came to us after purchasing their new home, wanting to update a few things to make it “theirs.” The master bathroom was very out of date, so that was their first priority and the largest part of the project. It had black galaxy granite with surrounding mirrors on all of the walls. They wanted to enlarge the shower, get rid of the huge step-up jacuzzi tub, and change the swing of the door to the closet and water closet. They also wanted all new cabinets and to create his and hers vanity sinks, if possible. We gutted the bathroom and started with a clean slate. Waypoint Shaker panel cabinets were installed and painted linen, with Super White Marble countertops. Payton Sconces in satin nickel were hung on either side of each vanity mirror. Mirabelle undermount vanity sinks were installed, finishing those off with sleek Brizo Virage faucets in brilliance brushed nickel. Capua Multi Perla ceramic tile was used on the shower walls, with the floor tile being Tesoro Nuvoloso Herringbone. A Mirabelle brushed nickel, square, custom showerhead and a Vilamonte brushed nickel handle were the hardware used in their new shower. The main flooring in the bathroom was IWould 6x24 glazed porcelain planks. Our clients love their new space!

Design Challenge: This 8 year-old boy and girl were outgrowing their existing setup and needed to update their rooms with a plan that would carry them forward into middle school and beyond. In addition to gaining storage and study areas, could these twins show off their big personalities? Absolutely, we said! MOTIV Interiors tackled the rooms of these youngsters living in Nashville's 12th South Neighborhood and created an environment where the dynamic duo can learn, create, and grow together for years to come.
Design Solution:
In his room, we wanted to continue the feature wall fun, but with a different approach. Since our young explorer loves outer space, being a boy scout, and building with legos, we created a dynamic geometric wall that serves as the backdrop for our young hero’s control center. We started with a neutral mushroom color for the majority of the walls in the room, while our feature wall incorporated a deep indigo and sky blue that are as classic as your favorite pair of jeans. We focused on indoor air quality and used Sherwin Williams’ Duration paint in a satin sheen, which is a scrubbable/no-VOC coating.
We wanted to create a great reading corner, so we placed a comfortable denim lounge chair next to the window and made sure to feature a self-portrait created by our young client. For night time reading, we included a super-stellar floor lamp with white globes and a sleek satin nickel finish. Metal details are found throughout the space (such as the lounge chair base and nautical desk clock), and lend a utilitarian feel to the room. In order to balance the metal and keep the room from feeling too cold, we also snuck in woven baskets that work double-duty as decorative pieces and functional storage bins.
The large north-facing window got the royal treatment and was dressed with a relaxed roman shade in a shiitake linen blend. We added a fabulous fabric trim from F. Schumacher and echoed the look by using the same fabric for the bolster on the bed. Royal blue bedding brings a bit of color into the space, and is complimented by the rich chocolate wood tones seen in the furniture throughout. Additional storage was a must, so we brought in a glossy blue storage unit that can accommodate legos, encyclopedias, pinewood derby cars, and more!
Comfort and creativity converge in this space, and we were excited to get a big smile when we turned it over to its new commander.

A sleek contemporary custom designed fireplace, along with just the right placement
of specially selected furnishings, masterfully transformed this space
into THE favorite room in our client's town house.
Furniture pieces were selected for their organic shape and to visually
add a soft sculptural quality. A sectional in a high-performance
richly textured herringbone fabric in tones of a soft blue-gray was chosen.
The super comfortable swivel chair, in shades of powder gray and putty
would allow family and guests to pivot in any direction that they desired for either conversation or TV viewing.
