This spacious kitchen in Westchester County is flooded with light from huge windows on 3 sides of the kitchen plus two skylights in the vaulted ceiling. The dated kitchen was gutted and reconfigured to accommodate this large kitchen with crisp white cabinets and walls. Ship lap paneling on both walls and ceiling lends a casual-modern charm while stainless steel toe kicks, walnut accents and Pietra Cardosa limestone bring both cool and warm tones to this clean aesthetic. Kitchen design and custom cabinetry, built ins, walnut countertops and paneling by Studio Dearborn. Architect Frank Marsella. Interior design finishes by Tami Wassong Interior Design. This utility room was designed to make everyday tasks feel more efficient and less disruptive. Custom cabinetry provides generous concealed storage, keeping supplies organized and out of sight, while a dedicated folding and workspace supports daily routines with ease.
Thoughtful details — including hanging space, durable countertops, and ample natural light — allow the room to function as more than just a pass-through. The layout supports laundry, light organization, and home management without feeling cramped or purely utilitarian.
By treating the utility room with the same level of care as the rest of the home, this space reflects how intentional design can quietly improve daily life.

The dramatic tone of the project is reached with the signature piece; a custom milled stone spiral stair used for entry into the room. After months of conceptualizing and sketching out how to make this a one-of-a-kind stair case, we arrived at the idea of having this element be fully self-supporting with no center pole or additional supports. To achieve this, milled stone treads and risers were CNC cut to specific dimensions and dry-laid onto one another, providing the strength needed to support the necessary weight. This stair tower also features stone walls to match the wine/cigar room, and custom iron handrails and spindles that were hand pounded on-site.

For a newly built contemporary home, Donna Terry embraced a modern aesthetic. Pattern was used in this home but pared down to checkerboard, squares and circles, an aesthetic often used by the Vienna Workshops . The use of geometric form was tempered with the purposeful use of spirals and curves to impart a less harsh and more feminine quality to the design. This home's dining room won a Design Award from the International Furnishing and Design Association and Design New England.

On April 22, 2013, MainStreet Design Build began a 6-month construction project that ended November 1, 2013 with a beautiful 655 square foot addition off the rear of this client's home. The addition included this gorgeous custom kitchen, a large mudroom with a locker for everyone in the house, a brand new laundry room and 3rd car garage. As part of the renovation, a 2nd floor closet was also converted into a full bathroom, attached to a child’s bedroom; the formal living room and dining room were opened up to one another with custom columns that coordinated with existing columns in the family room and kitchen; and the front entry stairwell received a complete re-design.

This busy family wanted to update the main floor of their two-story house. They loved the area but wanted to have a fresher contemporary feel in their home. It all started with the kitchen. We redesigned this, added a big island, and changed flooring, lighting, some furnishings, and wall decor. We also added some architectural detailing in the front hallway. They got a new look without having to move!

Dish drawer. A beautiful tudor in the Rouken Glen neighborhood of Larchmont New York, in Lower Westchester County New York, had a dated 1950s kitchen. The homeowner, who loves to cook, had huge quantities of cookware and serving pieces, so her new kitchen needed to have lots of storage. However, she also wanted an open feel with minimal upper cabinets. Dearborn Cabinetry worked with architect Zach Schweter to design the new, open layout with a large island with ample seating. Dearborn developed a custom door for this customer who wanted a very clean, shaker style look with minimalist details. Cabinetry color is Benjamin Moore brushed aluminum; countertops are Pietra Cardosa limestone; appliances by Thermador; sink by Shaws (Rohl).

This unique and sculptural bathroom vanity was designed with beauty and function in mind.
The four layers give it an elegant and sculptural form while housing LED lighting and offering convenient and necessary storage in form of drawers. Special attention was paid to ensure uninterrupted pattern of the rosewood veneer, maximizing its beauty.
The design amplifies lighting by using translucent honey onyx slabs clad over plexiglass structure. It can be accessed thru removable sliding panel hidden inside top drawers. Use of LED lighting under each layer of the vanity and to illuminate the onyx top produces a soft and elegant pattern in the evening.
Engineering of this vanity was especially important to ensure its weightless appearance. Structural elements cantilevered off the wall were incorporated into the body of the millwork.
