This was a dark paneled lake cottage with a small dark kitchen. We opened things up, white washed the walls, added a stone facade to the brick fireplace, pops of color and furnishings finish the place off nicely.

Gorgeous fireplace remodel. Custom built-in white cabinets and mantle and natural stone gave this fireplace an amazing update. Beautiful Travertine ledger stone and tumbled Travertine hearth are classically beautiful.

This old tobacco barn found new life by being repurposed as a residence next to this lake. The large walls of windows allow for amazing views. Timber Framer: Lancaster County Timber Frames / General Contractor: Historic Retorations

Set in Montana's tranquil Shields River Valley, the Shilo Ranch Compound is a collection of structures that were specifically built on a relatively smaller scale, to maximize efficiency. The main house has two bedrooms, a living area, dining and kitchen, bath and adjacent greenhouse, while two guest homes within the compound can sleep a total of 12 friends and family. There's also a common gathering hall, for dinners, games, and time together. The overall feel here is of sophisticated simplicity, with plaster walls, concrete and wood floors, and weathered boards for exteriors. The placement of each building was considered closely when envisioning how people would move through the property, based on anticipated needs and interests. Sustainability and consumption was also taken into consideration, as evidenced by the photovoltaic panels on roof of the garage, and the capability to shut down any of the compound's buildings when not in use.

Mid-sized contemporary multicolored two-story mixed siding flat roof idea in Orange County

This new residence in Lincoln Park is designed for maximum efficiency of room-to-room layouts and floor-to-floor circulation. With an abundance of natural light, the main floor of kitchen-dining-living is set 10’ above street level and cantilevered out over the ground floor entry. This provides a comfortable separation from the busy activities below, while still connecting the home to the neighborhood.

Maintaining the original midcentury spirit while adapting this 1960s home for a contemporary southern california lifestyle was important for this courtyard enclosure and complete facade update.
Variations in building massing along with the incorporation of native materials and thoughtfully located hardscape, are some of the strategies used to define the entry and enhance the streetscape at the exterior, while providing multifunctional square footage at the interior.

Bathroom - transitional gray tile, white tile and mosaic tile brown floor bathroom idea in Orange County with recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets and white countertops

This 3200 square foot home features a maintenance free exterior of LP Smartside, corrugated aluminum roofing, and native prairie landscaping. The design of the structure is intended to mimic the architectural lines of classic farm buildings. The outdoor living areas are as important to this home as the interior spaces; covered and exposed porches, field stone patios and an enclosed screen porch all offer expansive views of the surrounding meadow and tree line.
The home’s interior combines rustic timbers and soaring spaces which would have traditionally been reserved for the barn and outbuildings, with classic finishes customarily found in the family homestead. Walls of windows and cathedral ceilings invite the outdoors in. Locally sourced reclaimed posts and beams, wide plank white oak flooring and a Door County fieldstone fireplace juxtapose with classic white cabinetry and millwork, tongue and groove wainscoting and a color palate of softened paint hues, tiles and fabrics to create a completely unique Door County homestead.
