Our clients wanted a refined and sophisticated design concept with a cool and light feel so our aesthetic reflected just that. Using a monochromatic color palette of whites, greys and champagne tones, we created a formal and timeless house that matched the grand and classically inspired architecture. Meticulous attention to detail created a finished home that exudes beauty, formality and in essence, simplicity for our clients to enjoy for generations.

The main dining area is surrounded by venetian plaster. One wall houses an Art Deco rosewood sideboard with original brass hardware. A modern bronze statue rests on top surrounded by Jean Dunand bird panels. An Art Deco chinese rug houses the Macassar dining table with the suede leather matching chairs. A rare bauhaus silver tea sets rests on the dining table. The room is lighted by an antique Petitot Deco chandelier in brass and glass.

The dark wood island cabinetry provides a warm and rich contrast to the otherwise white and neutral colors of the kitchen.
Everything in this design was coordinated with the owners down to the decorative lights above the island. The homeowner found the light and the exact size and spacing was coordinated with the architect.
The subway tiles on the walls add warmth and interest to the beautiful kitchen as well, tying it all together.

To enlarge the master bathroom, we needed to use the closet space on the other side of the adjoining wall. Since the master bedroom and garage shared the same exterior wall, we were able to push out a portion of the block wall to create a large walk-in closet with built-ins. At the same time, we also created a dividing wall in the garage that separated the laundry area.
With the new square footage, the master bath was large enough to accommodate a luxurious Kohler “Tea for Two” whirlpool tub and walk-in shower. The Crystal Encore vanity cabinets featured a Tahoe door style in a Cotton White matte finish that was topped with MSI’s Calacutta Clara, a classic Italian marble-looking quartz featuring a milky-white backdrop and gorgeous long linear veining. This countertop was specifically chosen to match the Lotus Statuarro Michelangelo polished porcelain slabs that decorated the walls and were book-matched for flawless symmetry. To complement the grey and white tones in the master bath, the shower and main floors were tiled in honed Thassos and Cinderella marble in a herringbone pattern. Kohler Purist plumbing fixtures in polished chrome complete the look.

THE PROBLEM
Our clients fell in love with the this home and its beautiful, secluded surroundings the first time they saw it. Over time however, the split living space on the main floor proved to be not as functional as they wanted it to be for their family nor did it provide a great connection to the outdoor space that they loved so much.
THE SOLUTION
The solution, while clear, was not simple. To remove the main load bearing wall shared by these two rooms took a considerable amount of framing and the introduction of new structural components to merge two unique rooflines.
The removal of the wall created an eat-in kitchen with a wall of windows and an open concept living area. One of the main features and highlights of this space is a uniquely designed banquette that is a custom built-in extension of the island offering both seating at the island as well as a place for an actual dining table.
The new layout also offered ample spacing for cooking, plenty of preparation space as well as a coffee and tea area for the family's assortment of favorite beverages. Custom cabinetry adorns the walls alongside a neutral and class backsplash, new white oak floors, updated entryway and hallway pantry closet.

Remodel highlights a spectacular mix of finishes bringing this transitional kitchen to life. A balance of wood and painted cabinetry for this Millennial Couple offers their family a kitchen that they can share with friends and family. The clients were certain what they wanted in their new kitchen, they choose Dacor appliances and specially wanted a refrigerator with furniture paneled doors. The only company that would create these refrigerator doors are a full eclipse style without a center bar was a custom cabinet company Ovation Cabinetry.
The other item important to the client was the built in Miele Coffee Station with a drawer below for coffee cups and tea. The client had a clear vision about the finishes including the rich taupe painted cabinets which blend perfect with the glam backsplash.

The base cabinets for the sink run are new, designed to match the existing. We were able to resurrect the original 1902 sink and design both the cabinet and quartzite top to fit. We also added a hot and cold water dispenser that has a 200 degree water heater and an actual remote chiller unit that dispenses 34 degree water from the same faucet. Our client has been really enjoying these features and serving up best in class lemon ginger iced tea. Just sayin.
