The Marco Polo House at Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas, Texas is a fully custom coastal residence designed from the ground up by licensed architect Stefanie Mustian. Every detail - from the spiral staircase and wood accent walls to the marble kitchen and custom hidden storage options - balances the ease of beach living with the material rigor of classical architectural training. A fully owner-designed and owner-managed project, Marco Polo is thoughtful and timeless modern coastal at its finest.

Light and Airy shiplap bathroom was the dream for this hard working couple. The goal was to totally re-create a space that was both beautiful, that made sense functionally and a place to remind the clients of their vacation time. A peaceful oasis. We knew we wanted to use tile that looks like shiplap. A cost effective way to create a timeless look. By cladding the entire tub shower wall it really looks more like real shiplap planked walls. The center point of the room is the new window and two new rustic beams. Centered in the beams is the rustic chandelier. We developed a design utilizing organic materials to deliver a Master Bathroom that fulfilled the homeowners wishes of capturing the essence of a memorable vacation retreat. The subtle shine of the polished tile contrasts beautifully with the rich color of the Cherrywood cabinets and the salvaged Teak* wood slats; these elements when intermingled with the bold matte black finishes bring about the perfect balance, creating an inviting retreat after a long day. *Teak slats: sourced from vintage buildings in Southeast Asia

In the primary bedroom, lofted reclaimed wood ceilings make the space feel large and airy, while big picture windows let in lots of light and great views of the lake. The Jinny Lind style bed is a classic design touch that brings timeless visual interest.

This Master Bathroom was dated, dark, and in dire need of an overhaul. Our clients were inspired by a vacation home and wanted black and white basket-weave tile and tiled wainscoting. We used traditional plumbing fixtures, cabinets, and finishes that would complement the tile. We modernized the shower with dual shower heads, DTV, and teak seat. Detailed tile plans were executed to ensure the tile was impeccably installed throughout. This bath was further enhanced with added lighting and radiant heat flooring. At its core, this home is about balance. It combines a cozy, lived-in feel with the clean lines and open spaces characteristic of modern design. A space where natural elements and minimalist details coexist beautifully, creating a warm and inviting environment that feels both timeless and up-to-date. The primary bedroom is serene with a neutral color scheme and simple furniture. Use of layered bedding in textural fabrics and a mix of tones helps to create a cozy retreat. The adjoining bathroom features a double vanity, which provides both functionality and balance with plenty of natural light, keeping the space feeling fresh and inviting.
