A Chelsea one-bedroom, where bold, bohemian touches meet boutique hotel flair. Being a rental apartment with very little architectural charm to highlight, our goal was to turn what was essentially a white box, into a space that reflected our art-director client's personality, while also incorporating durable pieces that could withstand the wear of an energetic pet pitbull! Our client wanted a space to store her vast wine collection, as well as a space to entertain, so we turned the foyer area into a "wine bar", creating a cozy yet playful vibe with chalkboard paint, rustic wood and metal elements, as well as a collection of vintage mirrors. The goal in the living room was to create layered yet sophisticated boutique hotel feel, which we did by layering patterns, texture, and color, and incorporating an oversized light fixture for a playful yet dramatic touch. Example of a transitional home bar design in Boston

Splashes of turquoise inspire fun and bring a vibrant feel to this hilltop Yarmouth, Maine, home. Corner windows allow the sun to warm the bright colors inside. Fresh, white cabinetry and wood countertops balance one another out. And industrial touches like the weathered range hood pair with the classic trellised chair patterns seen on the island barstools, lending the home a unique and balanced personality. A true modern statement with a classic touch.

Who says a bathroom can’t be fun and colorful? This dedicated kids’ bathroom was updated to fit the personalities of the children who use it daily. The blue accented 6x6” wall tiles were arranged in a custom pattern, while the fixtures and hardware are a unique pink hue. The hutch for towels and other supplies also features pink shelves, while the modern wall sconce lights keep the space looking bright. The medicine cabinet mirror is hung above the custom wall-mounted vanity, which is painted gray to match the gray tile floors. To complete this renovation, we included a spacious white tiled shower that has plenty of built-in shelves for toiletries.

On the second floor, the main office space takes advantage of beautiful west light. In the spring, the cherry tree outside bursts into bloom, creating a soft, ethereal view. Faceted floating shelves and a built-in desk provide storage and negotiate the transition space between the old house and the new addition.
