Steel pipe planters containing low water usage plantings are illuminated from above with tree lights within the adjacent sycamore tree. All power supply cables are discretely located on the rear of the tree and were also covered with white to blend into the bark color of the tree.

Where nature and comfort meet! Natural stone walkways and trees blend with the surroundings to give a comfortable and private setting to enjoy nature.
We worked with the builder to start the landscaping before the home was built, starting with the rundle boulder wall that holds up the large driveway coming into the home. Every space of the yard was carefully thought out with in-lite LED accent lights to highlight the yard and home, rundle steps leading to the back yard, a mixture of tall mature trees and short drought-resistant shrubs, sod with irrigation, an open grassed area for the kids or dog to run, and a fully fenced back yard with gates.
Here are the main features:
Paving Stone Patio with Fire bowl
Ground-level planting with Douglas Fir premium bark mulch
Natural Stone steps
Mature Tree Plantings
Rundle retaining wall
In-lite LED accent light
Fully Automated Irrigation System

The 7,600 square-foot residence was designed for large, memorable gatherings of family and friends at the lake, as well as creating private spaces for smaller family gatherings. Keeping in dialogue with the surrounding site, a palette of natural materials and finishes was selected to provide a classic backdrop for all activities, bringing importance to the adjoining environment.
In optimizing the views of the lake and developing a strategy to maximize natural ventilation, an ideal, open-concept living scheme was implemented. The kitchen, dining room, living room and screened porch are connected, allowing for the large family gatherings to take place inside, should the weather not cooperate. Two main level master suites remain private from the rest of the program; yet provide a complete sense of incorporation. Bringing the natural finishes to the interior of the residence, provided the opportunity for unique focal points that complement the stunning stone fireplace and timber trusses.

Pound Ridge, NY Washington Hawthorn Trees hand selected from a tree farm in Sullivan County, NY. This is a fabulous tree. White Flowers, Red Berries, interesting bark and scarlet foliate. Deer Proof because it has thorns.

The main floor powder room is crafted with a trunk of a dogwood tree, the state tree of North Carolina, and holds an amber glass bowl. The faux finish on the walls is specifically designed to look like peeling wood bark but is impervious to any damage and can even be used outside.

First year planting for this project is a simple monochrome of greens and white. Low maintenance with small white flowers on the Geranium in the spring followed by the Annabelle Hydrangea white flowers all summer to late fall. The birches are present through the summer with nice fall yellow coloring and interesting beige exfoliating bark for the winter. Some of the Heritage Birch trees are uplit for shadow effects, underneath the wall caps are led lights as well as the steps. The lower entrance is now paved with a granite curb and 'oil & chip' gravel driveway.
