After a first-floor renovation of a home for a couple with four grown children, the new kitchen features high-tech appliances purchased through Royal Green and a custom island with a connected table to seat family, friends, and cooking spectators. An old dining room was eliminated, and the whole area was transformed into one open, L-shaped space with a bar and family room. “They wanted to expand the kitchen and have more of an entertaining room for their family gatherings,” says designer Danielle Florie. She designed the kitchen so that two or three people can work at the same time, with a full sink in the island that’s big enough for cleaning vegetables or washing pots and pans. Key Features: Well-Stocked Bar: The bar area adjacent to the kitchen doubles as a coffee center. Topped with a leathered brown marble, the bar houses the coffee maker as well as a wine refrigerator, beverage fridge, and built-in ice maker. Upholstered swivel chairs encourage people to gather and stay awhile. Finishing Touches: Counters around the kitchen and the island are covered with a Cambria quartz that has the light, airy look the homeowners wanted and resists stains and scratches. A geometric marble tile backsplash is an eye-catching decorative element. Into the Wood: The larger table in the kitchen was handmade for the family and matches the island base. They carried their vision of creating a French countryside home into this space. When it came time to select the appliances Alison just knew she had to go with BlueStar®. A growing family, a rambling Georgian estate. The question: how to imbue tradition with a fresh spirit? The charge was to maintain the idea of old school charm without the interior feeling just… old. An illustration could be found in picture molding (which we added, then painted to disappear into the walls) or a modern plaster sculpture teetering upon an old barrister bookcase. Michael Moran/OTTO photography We took a predictable suburban spec house and transformed it into a unique home of enduring value and family-centered design. The existing footprint was expanded where it needed it most: in the family and kitchen area, creating a large square room with open views to a protected nature preserve abutting the property. An unexpected glass canopy and teak entry door are clues that what lies beyond is hardly commonplace. The design challenge was to infuse modern-day functionality and architectural quality into a spec house. Working in partnership with Gary Cruz Studio, we designed the pared down, art-filled interiors with the goal of creating comfortable, purposeful living environments. We also sought to integrate the existing pool and rear deck into the overall building design, extending the usable space outside as a screened-in porch, a dining terrace, and a seating area around a stone fire pit.

We achieve aesthetic harmony: by our design, East Coast elements balance the mountain immersion of Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis. We informed every element of this new construction, from placing staircases to sourcing flooring and furnishings.

This gorgeous modern beach house combines a white canvas with pops of color and designer details, showcased in the custom brass hardware on the modern white cabinets and the designer lighting choices such as the natural basket pendant chandelier hanging above the dining table. The stools are white leather with wooden legs for easy clean and comfort. The counter tops are white quartz (Britannica Cambria) which waterfalls down the front of the island. The stainless steel wolf gas range sits beneath a modern stainless steel range hood. The walls are clad in a white painted horizontal paneling which wraps onto the vaulted ceiling. The flooring is gray porcelain tile, and the glass sliding doors are teak.

Referencing the wife and 3 daughters for which the house was named, four distinct but cohesive design criteria were considered for the 2016 renovation of the circa 1890, three story masonry rowhouse: 1. To keep the significant original elements – such as the grand stair and Lincrusta wainscoting. 2. To repurpose original elements such as the former kitchen pocket doors fitted to their new location on the second floor with custom track. 3. To improve original elements - such as the new "sky deck" with its bright green steel frame, a new kitchen and modern baths. 4. **Featured in Home & Design Magazine! The inspiration for this unique project draws on the clients’ love of Paris and the city’s vibrant romanticism and mix of architectural styles. Our challenge was to elevate builder-grade finishes in a newly-constructed townhome to create an urban retreat with aged patina for this young couple. Soft industrial elements were layered over Old-World inspired details on nearly every surface for maximum impact. We added rustic wood ceilings and industrial beams to create drama, texture, and value throughout. A Parisian-inspired glass/iron wall divider relieves the open concept floor plan, creating a more intimate seating space. Oversized pendants of steel, blown glass, horsehair and faux horn provide soft illumination while drawing the eye upward to architectural ceiling details. Custom midnight blue built-ins create a library that frames the entry and study. The deep and dramatic color palette of paint and wallpaper that adorns the walls is a vibrant mix of cobalt, citron, teal and smoky lavender. Light pours into the rooms from the large windows, reflects off the oversized acid-wash mirror, and forms dramatic shadows on the walls, setting the mood for this home.

Perched on a knoll atop a lakeside peninsula, this transitional home combines English manor-inspired details with more contemporary design elements. The exterior is constructed from Doggett Mountain stone and wavy edge siding topped with a slate roof. The front porch with limestone surround leads to quietly luxurious interiors featuring plaster walls and white oak floors, and highlighted by limestone accents and hand-wrought iron lighting.

Nestled up to an equally stunning home bar is this one of a kind glass front custom wine cellar / wine room in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. This trendy wine cellar is sleek with black wine racking, matching the black coated stainless steel frames in the glass front. Poplar wood was utilized for these wine racks, only to be finished with a modern / contemporary touch of staining them completely midnight black. This wine room screams luxury with its clean lines and hybrid style utilizing metal, glass and wood in varying colors and styles. Designed , built, and installed by Vintage Cellars, this wine cellar keeps your interest with many styles of display and storage. Along the top, individual bottle storage is perfect for those longer termed holdings. Directly below showcases two tiered coved trays, perfect for putting those prized bottles front and center. The jet black wine racking contrasts beautifully against the sprawling natural wood flooring. They did a fantastic job with the custom stainless steel framing, door, and glasswork.. A beautiful consistency was kept with the dark metal and wine racks. The combination of white and grey marble in the home bar / custom bar, the utilization of mirrors, subdued grey wall coverings, and sleek black furniture, metal, and wood all showcase elegance at its finest.
