Inspiration for a large transitional home design remodel in Houston

It takes a special kind of client to embrace the eclectic design style. Eclecticism is an approach to design that combines elements from various periods, styles, and sources. It involves the deliberate mixing and matching of different aesthetics to create a unique and visually interesting space. Eclectic design celebrates the diversity of influences and allows for the expression of personal taste and creativity. The bold colour choice and pattern of the wallpaper in this en-suite create an immersive and invigorating atmosphere. Blue is a great choice for a bathroom. This colour is often associated with feelings of calmness, tranquility, and serenity. It can evoke a sense of peace, stability, and relaxation.

One of the design challenge was how to incorporate several of the client’s existing pieces, including a favorite chesterfield Hancock & Moore tufted leather sofa, a heavily carved Bavarian mirror, console heirloom pieces from his parents, a grandfather clock, and new iconic mid-century designs the client had been eyeing for years.

This original artwork by local artist Sandi Wilson was a perfect addition to the space.

When you walk in this room you see drama. Our deep gray leather sofa and navy recliner anchor this tall and bright room, while our rad patterned chair and ottoman give a warm and much needed break in the solid fabrics.

Kids' room - modern kids' room idea in New York

There are many ways to use patterns in a room, here we have a seating area that sits in an open great room. While the sectional that is out of view is a solid gray, we decided to differentiate this seating space with an ikat pattern on the swivel chairs. We balanced all that pattern with a textured rug that has both the ivory and gray in it. That way we ground the pattern in the room and keep it from getting to busy.
