This is possible because we display one cabinet for each brand we sell. Through glass countertops clients can examine a brands construction quality, and we display the door styles and finishes of our brands. Instead of the larger displays customers see in traditional showrooms, our customers can view 5 million kitchens on Houzz.com, or the hundreds of our kitchen renovations we show on Houzz, our web site, and in framed photos on the walls of our office building. Kitchen construction is often better organized and generally costs less. This is because we recommend general contractors free of charge. They supervise construction from scheduling to completion. This eliminates a middleman, reduces delays, and eliminates the fees that almost all showrooms and home centers charge their customers. We are also happy to work with any contractor a customer finds on their own. If we haven’t worked with that contractor before they may need more of our direction, but both companies can benefit from working together and possibly referring each other in the future. When you love something and you realize after years, you’ve inadvertently put that away, a good designer will help you bring that back out. That was Turnstyle’s responsibility here with this recent client project: bring back the joy of spending time in a home library. This space is precious to me, because I’ve known it for all the many years I’ve been working on this home. It sits proudly in the center of the house, greeting people upon entry, and, in my opinion, was a jewel box ready to receive its shine. We blew through a wall to allow it a more spacious entrance, helping anyone who visits to immediately see the stunning on-the-lake view. I applied custom wall to wall antique glass to each wall, floor to ceiling, to enhance the view, make the walls feel like they fall away, and also reflect all the now beautiful art and furniture pieces as part of its new design. Influences from things gathered, stunning reworked furniture from the 1970s and all around functional hero items, allow for better working. The main push residing in really enabling quality time there. This space is open is now refreshing and full of beautiful objects and memorabilia. An inspiring place to contemplate, one is surrounded, and influenced, by a strong, fully fleshed out space through my extensive love of pattern, color and unusual combinations.

Upon purchasing the home, our clients, desired to update the entire main level of the home. Prior to the main level remodel, the kitchen, cabinets, footprint and trim were outdated housed with oak. The kitchen was completely gutted and re-designed with a fresh new layout, custom built white enamel cabinets, new center island, granite countertops, recessed lighting and new stainless steel appliances. The dining room with a walkway to the kitchen was walled off which created a pantry for the kitchen. The living room and family room once open, was closed off to create a home office. The fireplace was completely refaced with stone and new mantel created. There was essentially no mudroom, with extra space in the garage a large mudroom was created. The entire main level was refaced with all white enamel trim. Additionally, new dark hard wood floors were installed, popcorn ceilings were scrapped off, new carpet and recessed lights throughout were added. The remodel, superb quality of finishes, attention to detail and final design into this project were achieved.

A young couple arrived in Lisbon amid the pandemic to start the next chapter of their life together. They were welcomed by a quieted city, with renewed appreciation for its own natural beauty, and happened upon a recently reconstructed apartment with a broad river view. All that remained was to select suitable furnishings to transform the spacious top-floor duplex into their own comfortable home. In the airy living area, a Poul Cadovius teak shelving system is the central display and entertainment center, drawing the eye toward the riverscape. The verticality is countered by sofa-chaise seating atop a Portugese-produced rug, plus a reclining armchair whose color takes cues from the plentiful plants. Playful, vintage lamps illuminate in accents, after the pastels of sunset fade beyond the bridge. Entertaining runs through the couple’s veins, one of which built a career in wine and hospitality, so within reach of the intimate dining table is a built-in bar with bountiful bottle storage. The mezzanine above serves the other partner’s dance and somatic practices with made-to-measure wall mirror and upholstered floor mats. Hidden away is the adjacent master suite, its billowy bed encircled by clean, concealed clothing storage for uncluttered repose. The downstairs guest bedroom is modest so its walls reflect the day’s changing light. A bespoke bed with contiguous floating nightstands, proportions inspired by Cadovius, offers peaceful respite. Bedside pendants were hand crafted by a local ceramicist, imparting an organic touch to otherwise sleek lines of wood and metalwork. Across the hall, work and rest coexist: an extra writing module from the shelving system and a classic Eames task chair make a workstation, while a custom-designed pull-out daybed accommodates naps and extra visitors. This active family with two young boys wanted a place to grow food, lounge in the front yard with friends and have blooms upon blooms of midwestern flowers to enjoy. Custom tuteurs, vegetable beds and benches frame the center of the garden, surrounded by low maintenance flowering shrubs, trees and perennials. Evergreen grasses form the understory of the borders. In this Center Valley kitchen remodel, previous clients trusted us to update their outdated space while bringing new life and purpose to a large, unused dining area. Previously featuring dark wood cabinetry beneath low ceilings, the kitchen’s 90’s design was ready for refresh. The area diagonal to the kitchen - a “breakfast room” sitting nearly empty, was also redundant with the formal dining room nearby. Because of the open floor plan, the space was noticeable immediately upon entering the home. The clients knew that there was potential, but had never committed to transforming the extra square footage into anything more than additional seating. Our designer’s idea was to extend the kitchen into the dining area by adding cabinetry and a coffee bar, using the same custom cabinets for a cohesive look. Navy blue paint defines the coffee bar, while touches of blue on the kitchen island, and the veining of the white quartz countertops tie the design together. Other favorite features of the design include the chef oven with a custom hood, the farmhouse sink from Blanco, and custom bench seating under the windows.

This gut renovation project transformed an existing structure back to its original roots as a 2 story carriage house. The work to the front facade was intended to maintained its Landmark presence. But upon entry, the space opens up to a modern open plan that centers around a courtyard carved away from the original 100 foot long structure. The installation of an enormous glass door system at this courtyard allowed for light to spill into a large portion of the ground floor. Other key features of this build include: polished concrete heated floors, CNC perforated panels at main floating stair, and a large atrium oculus out of custom wood paneling.

Shingle details and handsome stone accents give this traditional carriage house the look of days gone by while maintaining all of the convenience of today. The interior of the home is distinguished as well as comfortable. Graceful pillars at the covered entry lead into the lower foyer. The ground level features a bonus room, full bath, walk-in closet, and garage.
