This white kitchen is made more interesting with the frosted glass inserts in the upper cabinets and the charcoal stain used on the island, floating shelves, and pantry door. The 3-D concrete subway tiles are another fun touch. The Siberian White granite counters keep the space light & bright. The large window above the stainless apron sink and the retro swing arm wall light also add style.

In many Parisian apartments, the bathroom may feature a unique and iconic fixture known as an "applique." This is a wall-mounted light fixture that is often made of brass or other metal and features an adjustable arm and shade. Appliques are a common feature in many Parisian apartments, and they are often placed above the bathroom mirror to provide ample lighting for getting ready in the morning. Despite their simple design, appliques are a beloved and essential element of many Parisian apartment bathrooms, embodying the city's commitment to both style and practicality in its design and architecture.

For this cozy, upper hallway sitting area I chose a pair of carved wood arm chairs with bright paisley fabric, a hair-on-hide rug in a chevron pattern and a sculptural floor lamp. The carved wood panels on the wall add a layer of texture and rustic interest. Photo by Brian Gassel

Photography by Francis Augustine The walls and ceiling are covered in Benjamin Moore Decorators white paint creating the perfect complement to the refurbished original oak tiled floor, which was updated with a darker stain and satin finish. The inviting neutral-tone sectional sofa has clean lines and a bit of shine with textured upholstery. The walls are adorned with gorgeous modern artwork from a private artists. The three pieces are hung in white frames with white mats to balance the sectional sofa and add a gorgeous pop of color.

We reconfigured this kitchen - removing a wall - to allow for a large island for entertaining. With two young children, durability was key. We chose Brownstone stools customized with performance fabric on the back to introduce a bit of pattern and wipeable faux leather seats. The backsplash over range is a single slab of Eureka Danby from Vermont's Dorsett Mountain, which wipes down easily. The Lostine pendants and sconces introduce a smidge of midcentury vibes. The tongue and groove backsplash and soapstone counters provide a quaint farmhouse feel; and we chose the fabric for the roman shade from a Parisian fabric house, Antoinette Poisson, which specializes in 18th century pattern designs, to add a bit of history.

A semi-formal living room on the Upper West Side. My client wanted a rug with a large graphic pattern. We started with the rug and built on it. The coffee table has no sharp corners which was a must with two small children in the home. The arm chairs and slipper chairs were family heirlooms that we had reupholstered. The room is a fun balance of modern and traditional.
