This home was fully remodeled with a cape cod feel including the interior, exterior, driveway, backyard and pool. We added beautiful moulding and wainscoting throughout and finished the home with chrome and black finishes. Our floor plan design opened up a ton of space in the master en suite for a stunning bath/shower combo, entryway, kitchen, and laundry room. We also converted the pool shed to a billiard room and wet bar.

The homeowners wanted to update an existing poker room to function as a secondary entertainment space, complete with a large built-in wine rack that was built into the existing cabinetry, new lighting, paint and a wallpaper accent wall.
It was important to preserve the existing stone flooring and the cabinetry, which ran consistently throughout the home.

A secondary staircase provides convenient access from the kitchen and family room to the bedrooms on the upper level. The wrought‑iron railing creates a striking contrast against the crisp white walls, becoming a sculptural element within the space. Warm natural wood finishes soften the composition, adding depth and inviting character.

Washington DC - Elegant Family Kitchen - Kitchen Design by #JenniferGilmer and #Meghan4JenniferGilmer in Washington, D.C Photography by Keith Miller Keiana Photography http://www.gilmerkitchens.com/portfolio-2/#

The large kitchen island creates plenty of counter space and serves as a secondary dining surface. Keeping the family together is an integral part of this design; while the parents are cooking the kids can be colouring or working on their homework. The bulkhead over the island adds dimension and we chose to incorporate the flooring into the inset adding visual interest and consistency.
