Located in the heart of Puglia’s olive groves, the beautiful Masseria dates back to 1689. Keeping the authenticity of the farmhouse, huge vaulted ceilings and original features remain throughout. This MossCreek custom designed family retreat features several historically authentic and preserved log cabins that were used as the basis for the design of several individual homes. MossCreek worked closely with the client to develop unique new structures with period-correct details from a remarkable collection of antique homes, all of which were disassembled, moved, and then reassembled at the project site. This project is an excellent example of MossCreek's ability to incorporate the past in to a new home for the ages. Photo by Erwin Loveland

I used an Arizona flagstone for the pathways for several reasons; it has a smaller “footprint” than other flagstones as it comes from just one state over from California. I love that the pieces could be sourced in extra-large sizes, which were perfect for their large scale garden. This flagstone is also authentic to the property, as it would most likely be the same stone used at the existing 50’s ranch house during the time. I also chose Del Rio gravel and colored concrete in the same tone as the existing soil.

Progressive Design Build was determined to provide this family with a special place that fits their unique lifestyle, complete with an authentic looking Tiki Bar. And, who wouldn’t want this perfect, instant escape on their own lanai?
We created this bar to look like it was a permanent piece of furniture, but it is actually entirely removable! This custom outdoor Tiki Bar was built using Cypress wood in a dark walnut stain. Aesthetically defined by tiki culture décor, the interiors and exteriors were also built with bamboo and real palm thatch. Functionally, this bar is fully powered with built-in electrical and also includes an under-counter mini refrigerator to keep drinks cold and flowing.
