Our Revival House designer was asked to transform this dated condo living area into a highly functional kitchen, buffet, and dry bar that reflects the homeowners' eclectic taste. To accomplish this, our designer chose distinctly industrial fixtures and hardware but mixed in three different door styles, an array of colors, hardware styles, finishes, and countertops with a nod to the eclectic. This is not your average kitchen, and it is stunning. This space incorporates three different cabinet finishes on three distinct door styles by Decor. The kitchen perimeter and buffet cabinetry employ a custom door style with an added detail to elevate the look. The dry bar and island utilize a timeless, Shaker-style door. The light cabinets in Willow paint and Mist stain on clear alder and the dark tone of Black Fox paint effortlessly define the to areas within the space - one for meal prep and one for entertainment. Every design decision and choice of material was purposeful in creating this unique kitchen space. The kitchen cabinetry is adorned with an elegant, polished Cambria Quartz in Inverness Frost, contrasted with the edgy, honed Ebony Granite from the Artisan Group for the buffet and dry bar. The thoughtful mix of cabinet hardware, using Bradbury pulls in Warm Brass by Atlas and several styles from Top Knobs' Aspen collection in Silicon Bronze Light, works together to add the perfect amount of warmth, shine, and aged-industrial appearance to this stunning eclectic kitchen. Mixed-metal dome-style pendant lights were added not only to light up the island and warmth but also to add continuity to the mixed-metal cabinet hardware. The lighting choice adds much needed task lighting and keeps the industrial flair without being cold. The Broderick single handle pull-down kitchen faucet in Champagne Bronze by Delta Faucets paired with the Kohler undermount sink is the epitome of form and function and adds to the eclectic personality this kitchen exudes. No kitchen is complete without high-end appliances. This Industrial Eclectic Kitchen has a panel-ready Sub-Zero refrigerator and KitchenAid dishwasher. Every home chef would love to create meals on the gas range by Wolf, and for quick food reheating there is a Sharp microwave in stainless steel. For entertaining guests, the Perlick beverage refrigerator is the perfect addition to the dry bar. This Industrial Eclectic Kitchen transformation is full of unique design elements and attention to detail and will inspire meal preparation and family gatherings for years to come. After living in their home for over 18 years, the homeowners loved the architectural potential of their home, and needed a refresh to meet their current family needs. They now had two kids in college and wanted to focus on entertaining. The key projects in the home included a new dramatic living room, the white kitchen renovation, a new personalized man-cave for the husband, and a large walk-in closet with custom height drawer storage for the wife. Throughout the rooms in this renovation, we added pops of gold and glamour, yet kept the home cozy and livable. We utilized cohesive design elements throughout the home including ship-lap texture and detailing throughout the kitchen, new mudroom, wok kitchen, living room, and master bedroom. Project Highlights: White Kitchen Renovation In this white kitchen renovation, we removed the old wooden shaker-style kitchen cabinetry and replaced them with all new white and grey cabinets, and white marble counter tops. Expertly hidden behind some of these cabinets is the family’s new walk-in pantry. The original space had a small, awkward-shaped kitchen island that was so small it was barely functional or convenient for more than one person to sit at. We gave the homeowners a much larger kitchen island, with a beveled edge, that now has more than enough space for eating, socializing, or doing work. With a large overhang counter top on one side, there is now room for several backless bar stools tucked under the island. You’ll also notice glitters of gold inside the two over-sized lighting fixtures suspended over the island. We created the homeowners a small wok kitchen just off of their new white kitchen renovation. In the main kitchen, we added a ceramic flat cook top and subtle white exhaust hood with an elegant rose-gold trim. Behind it, a white/grey mosaic back splash acts as a wall accent to provide some dimension to the otherwise solid white space. Surrounding the range hood are two large wall cabinets with clear doors to provide extra storage without adding bulk to the newly opened room. The adjacent dining room was also updated to include a long, contemporary dining table with comfortable seating for eight (ten if you want to get cozy). We replaced the low-hanging run-of-the-mill chandelier with a higher, more modern style made of gold and glass. Behind it all is a new dark grey accent wall with a paneled design to add dimension and depth to the new brighter room. Brightening the Living Room In addition to the white kitchen renovations, the living room got a much needed update too. The original high ceilings were so high they were unusable for decor or artwork, and a fireplace was mostly unused. We installed a large dark grey paneled accent wall (to match the new accent wall in the new formal dining room nearby), to make better use of the space in a stylish, artful way. In the middle of the room, a stunning minimalist hanging chandelier adds a pop of gold and elegance to the new space. Moreover, a double-volume space of living area with a huge glass curtain wall, faces West. High temperature occurs all day long, since it allows direct sunlight to come inside. In order to solve both mentioned problems, three addition items are proposed which are, GRID PARTITION, EXTENSION DECK, and STEPPING SPACE. A glass partition not only dividing space between kitchen and living, but also helps reduce electricity charge from air-condition. Grid-like of double glass frame is for stuff and stationery hanging, as to serve the owners’ activities. Extension deck would help filtrating heat from direct sunlight, since an existing high glass facade facing West. An existing staircase for going up to the second-floor bedroom, is added by a proposed space above, since this condominium unit has no enough space for dwelling or storage. In order to utilize the space in a small condominium, creating another staircase above the existing one helps increase the space. The grid partition and the extension deck help ‘decrease’ the electricity charge, while the extension deck and the stepping space help ‘increase’ the space for 11 sq.m.

By utilizing an unused bedroom, these homeowners gained a large walk in closet, and sitting area. Big enough to introduce a 3 sided fireplace. A daring mix of finishes, woods, & textures paid off. Cabinetry ranges from high gloss PET, textured faux wood, and even knotty alder. Floating night stands where continued up the walls to frame a one of a kind headboard. Glossy closet cabinets shouts luxury. By using Cambria quartz in a Minera design as a counter top, tub deck & shower sills, all those different cabinet styles were brought harmoniously together. Through the magic of wine cellar vapor barrier and insulation, the design build team at Vintage Cellars was able to properly prepare this outbuilding to store over 1700 collectible wines. Working closely with the client, we were able to understand that although display is nice - uncompromising long term storage was the overarching goal. Sweeping throughout the room above, individual bottle storage reigns to maximize bottle count. At about chest height, you can see two rows of angled high reveal display. Here, the homeowner placed his prized bottles - just a glimpse of what this incredible collection holds. Directly in the center of this medium sized wine room lies a small peninsula - a small section jetting out where larger format bottles are kept atop, as well as more space below in individual bottle storage. A small tabletop can be utilized to open wines or to let your favorites decant while you peruse the gems throughout. Below again is more individual bottle storage, sitting atop gorgeous Mediterranean style tile. Our Revival House designer was asked to transform this dated condo living area into a highly functional kitchen, buffet, and dry bar that reflects the homeowners' eclectic taste. To accomplish this, our designer chose distinctly industrial fixtures and hardware but mixed in three different door styles, an array of colors, hardware styles, finishes, and countertops with a nod to the eclectic. This is not your average kitchen, and it is stunning. This space incorporates three different cabinet finishes on three distinct door styles by Decor. The kitchen perimeter and buffet cabinetry employ a custom door style with an added detail to elevate the look. The dry bar and island utilize a timeless, Shaker-style door. The light cabinets in Willow paint and Mist stain on clear alder and the dark tone of Black Fox paint effortlessly define the to areas within the space - one for meal prep and one for entertainment. Every design decision and choice of material was purposeful in creating this unique kitchen space. The kitchen cabinetry is adorned with an elegant, polished Cambria Quartz in Inverness Frost, contrasted with the edgy, honed Ebony Granite from the Artisan Group for the buffet and dry bar. The thoughtful mix of cabinet hardware, using Bradbury pulls in Warm Brass by Atlas and several styles from Top Knobs' Aspen collection in Silicon Bronze Light, works together to add the perfect amount of warmth, shine, and aged-industrial appearance to this stunning eclectic kitchen. AVENTURA MAGAZINE selected our client’s luxury 5000 Sf ocean front apartment in Miami Beach, to publish it in their issue and they Said: Story by Linda Marx, Photography by Daniel Newcomb Light & Bright New York snowbirds redesigned their Miami Beach apartment to take advantage of the tropical lifestyle. WHEN INTERIOR DESIGNER JENNIFER CORREDOR was asked to recreate a four-bedroom, six-bath condominium at The Bath Club in Miami Beach, she seized the opportunity to open the rooms and better utilize the vast ocean views. In five months last year, the designer transformed a dark and closed 5,000-square-foot unit located on a high floor into a series of sweeping waterfront spaces and updated the well located apartment into a light and airy retreat for a sports-loving family of five. “They come down from New York every other weekend and wanted to make their waterfront home a series of grand open spaces,” says Corrredor, of the J. Design Group in Coral Gables, a firm specializing in modern and contemporary interiors. “Since many of the rooms face the ocean, it made sense to open and lighten up the home, taking advantage of the awesome views of the sea and the bay.” The designer used 40 x 40 all white tile throughout the apartment as a clean base. This way, her sophisticated use of color would stand out and bring the outdoors in. The close-knit family members—two parents and three boys in college—like to do things together. But there were situations to overcome in the process of modernizing and opening the space. When Corredor was briefed on their desires, nothing seemed too daunting. The confident designer was ready to delve in. For example, she fixed an area at the front door that was curved. “The wood was concave so I straightened it out,” she explains of a request from the clients. “It was an obstacle that I overcame as part of what I do in a redesign. I don’t consider it a difficult challenge. Improving what I see is part of the process.” She also tackled the kitchen with gusto by demolishing a wall. The kitchen had formerly been enclosed, which was a waste of space and poor use of available waterfront ambience. To create a grand space linking the kitchen to the living room and dining room area, something had to go. Once the wall was yesterday’s news, she relocated the refrigerator and freezer (two separate appliances) to the other side of the room. This change was a natural functionality in the new open space. “By tearing out the wall, the family has a better view of the kitchen from the living and dining rooms,” says Corredor, who also made it easier to walk in and out of one area and into the other. “The views of the larger public space and the surrounding water are breathtaking. Opening it up changed everything.” They clients can now see the kitchen from the living and dining areas, and at the same time, dwell in an airy and open space instead of feeling stuck in a dark enclosed series of rooms. In fact, the high-top bar stools that Corredor selected for the kitchen can be twirled around to use for watching TV in the living room. In keeping with the theme of moving seamlessly from one room to the other, Corredor designed a subtle wall of glass in the living room along with lots of comfortable seating. This way, all family members feel at ease while relaxing, talking, or watching sporting events on the large flat screen television. “For this room, I wanted more open space, light and a supreme airy feeling,” she says. “With the glass design making a statement, it quickly became the star of the show.”……. ….. To add texture and depth, Corredor custom created wood doors here, and in other areas of the home. They provide a nice contrast to the open Florida tropical feel. “I added character to the openness by using exotic cherry wood,” she says. “I repeated this throughout the home and it works well.” Known for capturing the client’s vision while adding her own innovative twists, Corredor lightened the family room, giving it a contemporary and modern edge with colorful art and matching throw pillows on the sofas. She added a large beige leather ottoman as the center coffee table in the room. This round piece was punctuated with a bold-toned flowering plant atop. It effortlessly matches the pillows and colors of the contemporary canvas. Moreover, a double-volume space of living area with a huge glass curtain wall, faces West. High temperature occurs all day long, since it allows direct sunlight to come inside. In order to solve both mentioned problems, three addition items are proposed which are, GRID PARTITION, EXTENSION DECK, and STEPPING SPACE. A glass partition not only dividing space between kitchen and living, but also helps reduce electricity charge from air-condition. Grid-like of double glass frame is for stuff and stationery hanging, as to serve the owners’ activities. Extension deck would help filtrating heat from direct sunlight, since an existing high glass facade facing West. An existing staircase for going up to the second-floor bedroom, is added by a proposed space above, since this condominium unit has no enough space for dwelling or storage. In order to utilize the space in a small condominium, creating another staircase above the existing one helps increase the space. The grid partition and the extension deck help ‘decrease’ the electricity charge, while the extension deck and the stepping space help ‘increase’ the space for 11 sq.m.

Our scroll work is hand forged using 5/8” solid iron. 4. The doors come on a pre-hung steel frame. The steel frame supports the weight on the doors and allows easy installation. The frame is equipped with mounting flanges to secure the frame into the framing with lag bolts. 5. Prior to painting, the doors are sand blasted, hot zinc coated for rust protections, then primed with a two part epoxy primer and faux painted with high quality acrylic paint, the clear-coated. Before the clear-coat application is applied the door is baked at 80 degrees for 30 minutes. This hardens the finish for maximum protection from the elements. 6. Doors are equipped with interior glass panels that open independently from the door. This feature allows for ventilation, cleaning and security by keeping the door closed and locked between homeowner and the outside party. 7. The glass comes installed and the glass frame can be prepared for either 5/16” tempered glass or 11/16” insulated tempered glass. All doors require tempered glass to insure safety code requirements. 8. All doors utilize a mortise and tendon type ball bearing hinge with grease fittings. 9. All doors come insulated with high quality foam insulation that is pumped into the jamb and also into the style of the door sheet. 10. A rubber weather stripping is used around the door frame, the glass frame. Aluminum or iron sill is included. 11. CAD drawings are created to insure that the right design size and configuration meet all the customers’ needs. Foot bolts and head bolts are used on double door units. The flush bolt is the mechanism that locks the inactive leaf of the double door unit. The head bolt locks into the top of the door frame and the foot bolt locks into the threshold/floor. 12. Doors can be manufactured to swing in or out. Arches are available in half circle, eyebrow and elliptical as well as rectangle.
