This client had recently moved into this home, and they wanted to add some personal touches and changes to make it feel more like their home. I came up with a plan for their backsplash that was simple, but had such a dramatic impact on the space. Also, I designed a valance for the kitchen window to add some pattern and color to the space that reflected the client's style.

This beautiful tuscan kitchen needed a beautiful fabric. We selected an updated pattern in soft rust and teal colors and added a small gimp trim on the bottom edge. We contrast lined the reverse side. Anne & Len loved the result and the new updated look. Now onto the bedroom.

Photos are from a recent install at a custom home in Unionville, Markham where the customer has 4 bedrooms with arch windows. This is a dining area that opens to the kitchen and living room, so we wanted to incorporate a pattern with the colors from the living room. I found this great transitional suzani pattern with reds and blacks that adds an element of whimsy and warmth to this small dining area!

These custom box pleated valances add a polished, tailored look to the dining space while beautifully framing each window. Featuring a soft floral print in calming shades of blue, gray, and ivory, the valances bring both color and pattern into the room without overwhelming the space. The structured box pleat design creates clean lines and a refined silhouette, while the contrasting fabric accents add depth, dimension, and a designer-inspired finish.

This open floor plan connects family room with kitchen and breakfast area. We've added two top treatments the form of the box pleated linen valance. The simplicity of this treatment blended beautifully with the family room patterned drapes. Greek key trim in blue, brown and silver was added for interest.

This beautiful kitchen features our Radford Maple Cabinet with raised panels and a fawn finish. Capital installed a space saver microwave above a sleek cook top and installed a three drawer base cabinet under the burners to add convenient storage for large pots and pans. The new ceramic floor tile was laid in a brick pattern to create an open look. Recessed lighting, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances give the space a modern feel. To top this kitchen off, Capital Remodeling installed a double side-by-side oven; that’s what we like to call cooking two birds with one kitchen!

This master bath was designed to modernize a 90's house. The client's wanted clean, fresh and simple. We designed a custom vanity to maximize storage and installed RH medicine cabinets. The clients did not want to break the bank on this renovation so we maximized the look with a marble inlay in the floor, pattern details on the shower walls and a gorgeous window treatment.

This cozy guest room is always in demand. Chintz curtains hanging under custom made painted valances add an unexpected element of design. Tortoiseshell double gourd lamps bring a modern touch. Comfort, quality and elegance are key elements of every Michael Whaley design. Photo by Phillip Ennis
