A valance is a great way to bring color and pattern into the room and finish a window. It also hides the headrail on the wood blinds to give a clean look. The scallops soften the darker wood, and reflect the round table.

Updated custom bedding in a soft palette includes a custom bedskirt, freshly painted nightstands to highlight the silhouette and hardware of this traditional style, mercury glass lamps. Photography by designer. Faux painting of nightstands by Michelle Bergman.

This homeowner moved all of her wonderful furniture and accessories from her previous home in Atlanta, and it all fit beautifully in her new home. However, she needed window treatments to complete the spaces. In the Sitting Area, we added linen drapery panels with a classic Greek Key decorative tape running along the leading edge. We also added pillows to the sofa and a geometric rug to ground the coffee table.
The homeowner did renovate the Kitchen when she purchased the home. It is a lovely classic white Kitchen so we added a punch of color in the bay area with our cornice boards. The oversized paisley pattern looks fabulous on the boards.
All of the spaces are open to each other; however, we did go a little more formal in the Dining Area. This classic damask pattern on a linen fabric works perfectly with Sherwin Williams' Balanced Beige (SW7037) on the walls. We added the subtle patterned rug under the dining table which complements the beautiful runner in the Entry.
In the Guest Bath, we added a faux flat valance in a fun medallion pattern.
And don't forget about your Laundry Room. Since we have to be in there, we might as well make it warm and inviting like the rest of our house. Love the embroidered floral pattern on this fabric!
Fabrics add warmth to any space and reinforce your color scheme. This was a great opportunity to complete this beautiful home. Enjoy!

This kitchen is a light bright traditional space. Its light and neutral color pallet is warm and inviting, while staying true to traditional design. The space doesn’t feel heavy or ornate, but still carries custom and visually interesting elements. The farmhouse sink both classically beautiful and functional. The back splash is tumbled marble and by changing formats from square to diamond, we add interest without creating visually busy or completing elements. The glass rope and inset glass tiles are a custom element that adds to the custom elegance of the space. The arched raised panel valance over the sink marries the two areas of the kitchen and creates visual interest and dimension
The clear glass mullion door is clean and timeless

This beautiful kitchen is a complete transformation from what the clients had before The new white shaker style cabinets and beveled, taupe, subway tile back splash, go wonderfully with the contrasting black granite counter tops.
I added a gorgeous geometric roman valance to add a little pattern. The vinyle floors were the ferpect solution for this contemporary kitchen, the subtle pattern gives the impression the room is larger than it is.

Complementing the client's embroidered crewel bedspread, a red and cream crewel fabric is used for a custom pillow for the chair. When combining patterns, look for similar movement, but allow one pattern to be a harmony voice to the main fabric, the "melody" of the room.

The master bath is a continuation of the spa like feeling that exudes from the master bedroom. A custom valance was created by Custom Interior Solutions for the window over the tub to tie in the color palette in the bedroom.

This client had recently moved into this home, and they wanted to add some personal touches and changes to make it feel more like their home. I came up with a plan for their backsplash that was simple, but had such a dramatic impact on the space. Also, I designed a valance for the kitchen window to add some pattern and color to the space that reflected the client's style.
