This beautiful and bright living room offers great textures and bold patterns that make your eyes scan every corner of the space. The luxurious side chairs and oversized sectional create lots of seating that is great for family and friends to come for a visit.

The combination of different patterns in a bright color palette creates a fun but relaxing amosphere. Roman Shades and pillows by Fabric Works. Room design by Cinda Scadden from Portland Oregon.

This kitchen showcases beautiful Carrara Polished Marble countertops throughout and Watercolor 3x12 Glossy tile in Smoke finish that lends movement and texture to the space. The existing cabinets were modified by adding arched valances over the cooktop and sink. New doors & drawer fronts were added with new hardware and all cabinets were finished off with sprayed lacquer paint.

The fabulous Kitchen we shared with you earlier is open to the Breakfast Area & Hearth Room. We kept most of the homeowner’s existing furniture including the table and chairs, small bookcase, leather chair & ottoman and the rugs.
In order to unify the existing pieces with our new color scheme, we installed valances in a colorful paisley print on the 3 large windows along the back wall. They pop off our walls in Sherwin Williams’ White Heron (SW7627). The chandelier in the Breakfast Area was slightly off center and unfortunately could not be moved. We install this oversized, dimensional chandelier that fills the space nicely. We added cushions in a fun denim stripe to the chairs.
In the Hearth Room, we paired a sofa with chaise in a sharp tweed fabric with the existing leather chair. We finished off the seating area with unique tables and a colorful lamp.
The most impactful change in this area was painting the bookshelves and adding a patterned tile around the fireplace that coordinates with our Kitchen backsplash. Kelly Sisler with Creative Finishes by Kelly did a “Restoration Hardware” treatment to the built-ins making them feel more like furniture. We added texture by installing grass cloth to the back of the shelves. We filled in some colorful accessories with the homeowner’s existing pieces to finish them off.
This is a warm and inviting space that along with the Kitchen is definitely “the heart of the home!”

These clients moved from the home in which they raised their (now adult) children to an apartment in Louisville, and wanted their new home to resemble their NYC apartment. Though they modernized all the systems in the apartment, the building had some rules which included keeping the toilet and tub intact. We worked around the rules to create a beautiful new living situation.
The building is from the late 1970s and we kept the integrity of the building’s original design when redesigning the rooms.

Light and airy with a mix of bright and soft tones livens up this tween girls room. Custom made cornice with custom black out shade mixes it up. Whimsical wall decor keeps the room fun without being too young so she can grow in to a young adult

This small galley kitchen was a challenge, but with Signature Custom Cabinetry we were able to make the best functional use out of every space. Due to existing cast iron plumbing pipes, the dishwasher ended up against the right wall, with a drawer base separating it and the sink base.

A Cabinetsmith Signature series Bayfield Dark Java kitchen. Dark Java was chosen to add richness to the room. The stone back splash allows for natural light to be captured and stone work above the stove top gives the kitchen an interesting focal point. The light valance reflects light between the back splash and light granite counter top. A modern glass stove top is used instead of a traditional stove.

We pulled down another set of heavy, overly-trimmed draperies on the large set of basement windows, and added a new set of custom draperies and valance in a bright royal blue and white embroidered ogee pattern. In addition, we recovered an existing chair and a half in a fun new blue and cream leopard print!
