This classic southern cottage with historical features is a collaboration between Home Builder Jeff Frostholm and Custom Home Designer Bob Chatham. The tall windows with transoms and high ceilings create a feeling of stepping back in time. Designed specifically to be built in Pointe Place, a residential community in Fairhope, Alabama with strict architectural guidelines for creating cottages with a southern vernacular style. Our design team created a concept of a “Water-wise Tropical Paradise”, bursting with color, shiny textures, lush foliage, and small palm tree varieties. Turf was converted to garden beds, and low-volume, low-pressure drip irrigation was installed.

Surrounded by a rich, green lawn and shredded pine mulch garden, this variegated slate stone pathway leads to a magnificent outdoor fireplace, hand crafted out of stacked stone. A generous hearth provides easy access for campfire cooking and roasting marshmallows, with a stone topped surround to provide definition and a beautiful sense of geometry to the structure.
