DEANE Inc’s slope side home in Stowe, Vermont exemplifies functional living in a modern home with it’s open floor plans in the kitchen and living area. Both natural and recessed lighting brighten the kitchen and living areas to balance the darker shades in the barstools and custom wood cabinetry. The kitchen space flows into the living area and staircase leading upstairs, perfect for socialization.

The main level at this modern farmhouse has a great room and den bookended by stone fireplaces. The kitchen is at the center of the main living spaces where we designed multiple islands for smart base cabinet storage which still allows visual connection from the kitchen to all spaces. The open living spaces serve the owner’s desire to create a comfortable environment for entertaining during large family gatherings. There are plenty of spaces where everyone can spread out whether it be eating or cooking, watching TV or just chatting by the fireplace. Huge mid-century modern backyard rectangular pool photo in Miami

A new home for an energetic young family presents a traditional Mediterranean-style façade. Interiors are restrained, with an Asian-inflected elegance and an emphasis on shared social space, open circulation, and connection to the lawn and pool beyond. A magnificent heritage oak in the back garden was a guiding influence on a gently terraced plan with varied roof lines.

The southern facade faces an extensive lawn sloping to the golf course and views of wooded piedmont hills beyond. Hillside nestles into the natural contours of the site stepping down from the living areas with "trays" comprised of the lounging deck, social patio, lap pool then lawn. Extensive eaves provide passive solar shading of living area and bedroom south-facing, view-oriented glazing. Small space living solutions are used throughout this contemporary 596 square foot tiny house. Adjustable height table in the entry area serves as both a coffee table for socializing and as a dining table for eating. Curved banquette is upholstered in outdoor fabric for durability and maximizes space with hidden storage underneath the seat. Kitchen island has a retractable countertop for additional seating while the living area conceals a work desk and media center behind sliding shoji screens. Calming tones of sand and deep ocean blue fill the tiny bedroom downstairs. Glowing bedside sconces utilize wall-mounting and swing arms to conserve bedside space and maximize flexibility.
