A partial renovation and complete furniture package for this home in Vancouver delivered modern and authentic spaces for a young family. The craftsman bones of the house were honoured and a 90’s fireplace was replaced with a modern version that blends into the wainscotting and allows the TV to be recessed above. Modern furniture and lighting were kept in a light neutral palette to emphasize the space and create a feeling of calm treasured after a busy day at the office. A mix of Italian and locally crafted pieces create a layered sense of home and a unique balance of sophistication and casualness. Falken Reynolds added a unique take on Holiday decorating for a feature in Western Living Magazine.

Visitors are awed as they walk through the exquisitely hand-forged, high quality wrought iron Cantera doors into an unobstructed view of the Banana River.

For this Boston-area former hunting lodge, featured in Outside the Not So Big House by Julie Moir Messervy and Sarah Susanka, JMMDS created a landscape design that anchors the house in the site and complements its Tuscan-inspired architectural update. Three paths meet in a circle of bricks that subtly offers visitors a place to pause and consider before continuing in another direction. Moss has been cultivated to fill the spaces between bricks. This stunning home in Florida brings the natural beauty indoors with pecky cypress ceilings and accents, Vgroove wood walls and custom reclaimed wood beams. The warmth of the wood is contrasted by the modern finishes of the designer tile and lighting, which are statement pieces in the kitchen. Marble countertops in the kitchen brighten the room, while glass tile fireplace and kitchen backsplash allow the visitor to feel at home in this nautical house. The oak flooring throughout is durable yet beautiful, and will last for many years to come. Lastly, guests can enjoy the stone patio and watch the sunset.

This beautiful, all-cedar privacy fence warmly welcomes visitors and keeps the eyes looking around the yard. The arbor extends over the patio to continue the green-black trim to better frame the white house. The HVAC units have been fenced in with a visual screen that lets airflow through - and the panels are removable for maintenance access. We also replaced the old planter boxes on the front windows.
